I've been there many times to get my Ethiopian food fix, but every time, I ask myself if there isn't a more welcoming Ethiopian or Eritrean place to go in the area. As always, the food is good, though perhaps a little light on the main dishes and heavy on the cold salad-like fillers that take up the empty space... More

We went there for a family dinner as we have often walked past the restaurant and it seemed interesting. The biggest disappointment was the fact that the vegeterian plater that has been ordered by one of us (which costs 30CHF) was just a handfull of lentils and some other vegetables. The taste of the food was ok, but paying this... More

The service in the restaurant is average, but the food is good. If you don't know ethiopian food, I advice the "Menu découverte" which enables you to discover this kind of food for a faire price. The decoration of the place is nice and traditional. Note that, like in Ethiopia, you will have to eat with you hands!

We've had dinner here for a few years now and the quality of the food has been going worse every time so we are not coming back here again. Also, the other day, the waiter suddenly disappeared while he was taking our order so I showed him that I was not happy about that, after that he made us (with... More

Located in the city center, this restaurant is really beautiful, and among the other Abyssinia restaurant I have been to, it is the best in terms of decoration. The food is also excellent.

I really enjoyed Ethiopian cuisine in this restaurant: they are able to handle several people, which makes the place useful for a business / team dinner, as well as for a private dinner.

For those of you seeking something new, Ethiopian cuisine will open some new horizons and a refreshing change of ambiance. There are a handful of options in Lausanne, but let's talk about the Abyssinia, the one we are most familiar with. It's an unpretentious little corner that has the feel a family business (whether that is the case or not... More

Abyssinia offers Ethiopian food in a traditional or nontraditional seating arrangement, as you prefer. This restaurant is a great option for vegetarians and vegans. Service was thoughtful and attentive and the food was excellent.

I went there for lunch with my work colleagues. We were pretty much the only ones for lunch there. Maybe another two people not sure. The decoration is very nice and very authentic. Food is ok, I was not to impressed, as I came with mega high expectations. Price wise, if you take the menu of the day is quite... More
