Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our dinner was good, no question about it: we opted for the large tasting dishes, one from the sea, one of meat, served on slate plates. They were covered with tasty degustation portions of various delicacies and salad. However: Although good products were selected, there...was little cuisine behind this, except for a couple of items, these (expensive) plates were more looking like an aperitive selection you can prepare at home (admittedly with some time!) than a true cook demonstration! Service was also pretty poor with several disorganized waiters moving in all directions and asking the same thing to the same guests (us and others) on several occasions, or almost throwing a glass of wine in front of us without much concern... Paper napkins... Don't expect any small niceties like a small appetizer or a chocolate. The terrace was enjoyable. Bread and coffee rather good and wine by the glas correct. Altogether a slightly above average classical restaurant, not unpleasant but with a lot of way ahead to reach anything close to remarkable. Dithyrambic comments sound clearly exaggerated.More

We (family of five) have been visiting L'Enclos de Valere once a year since some 5-6 years now - always in Summer and always sitting in the wonderful garden. Every time they manage to surprise us with excellent food, very friendly and attentive service and...good advice on regional wines. We had excellent lobster soup, great Tournedos and I absolutely love the cheese trolley! This restaurant is an absolute gem, and very consistent quality. The only downside is that you have to reserve in advance to ensure you get a table, and even then there will be evenings they will be fully booked. I wish we lived closer to Sion, and we would visit even more often.More

The terrace is nice, with lots of plants and trees. The food was really excellent (we went for fish and shrimps). Service is also great, with several waiters/waitresses taking care of you. I can warmly recommend this place!

With a great welcome, (reservation is a must), your meal will be exceptional. Products from the Valais are prepared in creative ways, making the plate colorful, as well as tasty. Great wine list. Set menus are also available making it even easier...Nice weather and you...will be outside on the patio (quiet and cosy romantic) Between you and me : even eyes closed, whatever you choose will make you happy. Parking suggestion : underground parking La CibleMore

We had an excellent lunch here last Sunday, colourful and tasty salad, steak was perfectly cooked, lovely wine. The setting in the garden is beautiful and the service was first class.

Restaurant L'Enclos de Valere was truly worth the steep uphill walk through the narrow streets and passageways of Sion's Old City.. It was a beautiful warm day, and we opted to sit out on the big beautiful terrace, under some shade trees. Sadly, sitting outside...to eat anywhere in Switzerland puts a diner at the mercy of smokers...sigh. Our lovely and friendly waitress quickly took our orders, and brought out a nice bottle of white wine made with the local Petite Arvine grape: The wine was light and fruity, with a faint salty finish that is typical of this grape. Our host ordered the fish of the day, while I had a cheese plate with salad, and my wife a refreshing, but spicy, gazpacho which she said was delicious. Our salads were really tasty with sweet, flavourful tomatoes, and crunchy walnuts. Our host's fish came perfectly cooked with a tasty sauce. While quite reasonable, my cheese plate was enormous, and came with quite a selection of local Swiss, and soft French cheeses accompanied with nuts and dried fruits; heavenly! Truly excellent restaurant, with great food and service. Now Switzerland...just eliminate smoking anywhere on all restaurants' property!More

We asked for a table and we got fired because the restaurant was "full" and honestly it wasn't... I feel so insulted... Hope the service they offer will be better if they want to keep their business on the top!

Delightful walk in the old town leads to this terrace through a 'hole in the wall' to a lovely garden with tables in different orientation, in sun or shade, up a few stairs by the natural rock wall. Service was well paced for us, not...too rushed but fine for a leisurely lunch. The menu de jour began with seasonal based melon - several small portions - bite-sized slices of melon, lime juice and pastiche/ classic prosciutto and melon / soup au melon, etc. The main course was delicious and no problem changing the rice for home fries. The dessert - wow! Innovative, delicious, and copious. Even when the lunch crowd thinned, we were not rushed as one service personnel stays on while the others go on their afternoon pause. Our waiter passed by to say a friendly au revoir.More

A really good diner on the Terrasse with the sound of the rain and storm ! The foie gras is amazing and two big pieces ! L'ardoise des délices du terroir and ardoise de la mer was really delicious just the piece of pork that...I didn't like and was not warm enough ! The only disappointment was the coffee with only a Cailler chocolate ! Maybe a home made biscuit or chocolate was more appropriate ?More
