Huge variety of different fresh meals: salads, soups, tartes and different cakes. The best thing is their big selection of teas and coffee specialities. Everything is topped with a friendly and fast service.
Cafe Vordergasse is a vegetarian restaurant. I didn't realise that when I went in, but I am so glad that I did visit them. The food is absolutely wonderful and so tasty - I had their curry! The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting and...you can take a book or read one of their magazines or newspapers that they have available, and park yourself there for a while.More
It is a really beautiful and cozy place to have your coffee and light lunch ! The atmosphere travels you in an old style caffe. The service was excellent and really helpful!
I suggest it if you are in the area 👌👌!!
We stumbled in for lunch not knowing where to go in town and, we’ll we got lucky. It just happens to be the #1 restaurant in Schaffhausen. Great food and friendly service. The food came fast. Our server was so friendly. I think we occupied...the last table so they fill up for lunch. We each tried one of the quiche and salad specials with a local helles beer. We highly recommend Cafe Vordergasse for lunch!More
We made a beeline for Cafe Vordergasse based on previous TripAdvisor reviews and we weren't disappointed! We were served by a very friendly man who overheard us talking in English and offered us English menus.
As the weather was nice, we opted to sit outside,...but inside is equally nice, styled as a quaint old tea room. The menu is great, it was so hard to choose! I was torn between the milkshakes and the ice cream sundaes. I finally decided on a small vanilla milkshake - which wasn't very small at all! - and begs the question, how big are their large milkshakes?! It complemented a delicious slice of lemon cake perfectly! My co-eater had a Falcon beer and a cream-sandwiched meringue dessert, served with ice cream and decorated with fruit, which looked very decadent! All this came to approximately 25CHF.
I'd highly recommend this cafe, with its indulgent menu and friendly, attentive service - what more could you ask for?!More
Nice historical place, right in the center of the town. Service is good, menu very schizophrenic but which includes an amazing hummus dish. Lots of fresh juices are available and exotic syrups. Not the traditional experience the facade promises but O like it like this.
