We wanted to find a restaurant for lunch that wasn't in the center of Lucerne tourist center. We saw a decent rating on this restaurant and it was on the way from our hotel to the center of town. We arrived around 12:30-1 and it...didn't start off well as it was very busy and at first they turned us away a little brusquely. But just before we got out the door they waved us back in and said they arranged a table for our group of 5. Everything got much better from there. Three of us had meals off the fixed price lunch menu and all were fabulous (2 steaks and one pasta dish). The other two in our group split a pizza. All the food and drinks were fabulous and it is one of the most memorable meals we had on our trip to Switzerland. Great short walk across the river to get away from center. Mainly business people from 11-1 for lunch.More

The pizza was delicious! They are so accommodating, customized whatever we wanted. The bread with oil, spices, and vinegar was amazing! George Roberto will give you what you want, and Michelle will take care of all of your service needs! Loved it!

I was in Lucerne for the first time in a very long time and was quite pleased to have come across La Baracca upon setting out on my first day (a Tuesday) weary from travel and very hungry. It ended up being just a very...short walk from my hotel. The staff at La Baracca were friendly and attentive and gave me a warm welcome. They were also very helpful with interpreting the German menu (my knowledge of German being pretty much nill). I had the pizza special (tuna and grape tomatoes). It was prepared quickly and was absolutely delicious and totally satisfied my hunger. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, the food delicious and I liked the modern décor. I recommend La Baracca without hesitation to anyone traveling to Lucerne.More
