We arrived at the restaurant on Sunday night at 8:00 without a reservation but find a table easily. Not all reataurants are open in Basel on Sunday. Tasty food, big portions and reasonable prices. A good choise for traditional swiss dishes.

We came here in Sunday evening and were not disappointed. The staff are all excellent and the food good as well. I can highly recommend this place for people wanting Swiss food. The building and surroundings are just lovely too.

AT a stone's throw from the iconic Basel city hall, restaurant Schnabel provides an authentic décor and serves some really good dishes. My colleague's wiener schnitzel looked delicious (and he confirmed it was), while my steak tartare was served with all optional ingredients to the...More

Description
The "Schnabel" is one of the oldest and most traditional restaurants in town. With its cosy atmosphere it is very characteristic for Basel and the place where locals meet. It is firmly ancered in the customs of this town and during the Carnival worth a look! It is well known for its good plain cooking and local specialities, fine wines and a large range of quality beers on tap. We speak several languages and have English & French Menus available.
