We had a great lunch: a mix of meat, cheese, lasagne, etc, etc, all stuffed with truffles. Great wine, nice terrace on the piazza grande. Kind service. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

My husband and I had dinner in the Locanda del Tartufo, whose speciality is obviously truffles. We had a table in Piazza Grande, and this in itself was so special! The waiting staff was friendly and helpful, and really made us feel looked after, and...the food was delicious. We had a tagliere, a platter of locally sourced mixed cold cuts and cheeses, then a sformatino, a delicious creamy potato and truffle stack, a caciotta, melted cheese and truffles with toast, and finally a panna cotta. We will definitely return, and it's a great place to take visiting friends to.More

Great people watching with excellent local cuisine. The salumi is excellent as are the truffle dishes. Service is spotty but friendly. A good choice before or after riding the funivia Colle Elleto.

Spent the day in Gubbio, a high, remote medieval Umbrian town. Lunch at Locanda del Tartufo (“tartufo” is “truffle,” a local delicacy). My husband and I decided to share a meal although our waiter assured us our dish was for one person. Here it is:...Lasagna alla boscaiola e tartufo (mushrooms, sausage, truffle); crostini al tartufo (four bruschetta, each with a different topping - pecorino cheese and truffle; olives and truffle; pistachio pate and truffle; and meat pate and truffle. There was also a number of local cheeses and local sliced meats including prosciutto, capocollo, lonzo (salami) and speck di cinghiale (wild boar speck.) Also Salsiccia arrosto con verdure cotta (roasted sausage with spinach, chicory and rocket.) Finally, the local bread, crescia and an amazing red house wine. Oh, and honey with truffle in it to drizzle on the cheese. Every taste was exquisite.More

Wonderful, cozy little corner of Gubbio for a quick lunch. Generous portions of every menu item making sharing plates of food a must. Pasta just a good as the signature dishes of sliced meats and condiments.

Easy access location on the main piazza of Gubbio below the ducal place. This is not really a full restaurant. It’s more like a sandwich shop with a secret menu. And the secrets are super delicious. They make a type of flatbread that is local...to Umbria. You can get it plain or with local prosciutto, mortadella and salami. Some cold cuts are also made from the local boar. We ordered some flatbread plain for the kids and the owner brought out a gift sampling plate of cold cuts because he couldn’t bear to see it eaten alone. We also ordered some flatbreads grilled with local cheeses that were yummy. However, the secret menu is where it’s at. They have several dishes with truffles including a fondue and pasta. That pasta takes about 20 minutes, but our group would probably wait for hours. It was the most delicious pasta of the trip for several of our family. Simple, pure and truffle-cious! Sample what they have, ask questions. The owner was very nice.More

If you're in Gubbio try and have a lunch here! We stopped by chance and had the most delicious shared plate of local products. Salami, prosciutto, lentils, mushrooms, truffles with cheese, corn bread etc; along with some of the local red. Would easily become a...regular if we lived locally.More
