This newly opened Osteria was recommended to us and exceeded all expectations. Danni & his staff were so welcoming & friendly with excellent service. We were greated with a prosecco and a tray of anti pasti, which were delicious. The fantastic home-made bread just kept...More

The Osteria del Pievano is located in the unpolluted magic hills of Umbria, at the foot of Mount Subasio. Assisi and the enchanting Franciscan walks are a mere 5km away, and are easily reachable by car, bicycle and on foot. It may be the beauty of the places, or the enchanting atmosphere, but sooner or later all visitors to Assisi fall in love with Umbria and its ever green natural beauty. The building itself contains four large and beautifully furnished rooms. Each is self contained, and has its own private entrance. Each contains a large double bed. Small beds can be added to cater for young families. The rooms are surrounded by natural vegetation, and they are far removed from city noises. The decor is in line with rural tradition: simplicity and practicality to serve the guest. Outside there are vast green spaces for relaxation or long walks. A small creek, hidden away by the lush vegetation. The building also contains a warm and light dining room with a large open fireplace and a wood fired oven for baking pizza. Our Chef will be pleased to treat you to our meat specialties. Our cuisine is typically Umbrian, featuring truffles, mushrooms, local meats. All accompanied by the best Italian wines. It is also possible to lunch or dine outside, surrounded by the green and peacefulness of the Umbrian hills. MEALS FOR GROUPS. We recommend excursions, whether guided or not, to Mount Subasio, to the walled hill towns, to the Valnerina or the Umbrian Central Appenine mountains, to the towns surrounding lake Trasimeno, to the caves of Frasassi, to the castles and medieval towns of Tuderte, to the waterfalls of Marmore, to the producers of artsanal ceramics in Deruta and Gualdo Tadino, to the museums and picture galleries of Perugia, and to the historic Etruscan sites.
