Cosy little place tucked in in one of the side streets, with excellent service and food. Everything we tasted was cooked to perfection. Grilled octopus, and quail egg carbonara with truffles, outstanding. Veal tartare, THE freshest and with tastiest truffles, I probably would have seasoned...the meat more, but still it is excellent. The only non 5star dish was the duck, which, although cooked to perfection, lacked real flavour, the green beans not the best accompaniment, some more of that beautiful raspberry like sauce they served with octopus would have made the duck dish perfect. But that is small grip, because the carbonara tagliorini was the best pasta dish I have had in years, and semifreddo not too sweet, service kind, warm and friendly and the place cosy. We were sharing the mains dishes and, without any prompting by us, they divided those dishes into two plates. Heartily recommend this gem of a place!More
This is not a pretentious or snobbish restaurant; its decor is very casual, almost rustic, but warm and inviting.
They accidentally brought us a veal tartare (which I tried a bite of before they and I realized their mistake and they took it away again--it...was very good), then replaced it with the tuna tartare and chives and mango that we ordered, which was also great. The pasta course was also fantastic, though oh man, it left me WAY too stuffed to eat my main course! Look at the picture of the taglierini with quail egg and truffle. I did a good job on it, but oof. Stuffed! Finally, the rooster with honey and truffle was also excellent. Next time I'll know better than to have three courses, even though I did split the first one with my spouse.
Excellent restaurant, though!More
Combine an inventive chef, with spectacular ingredients, a terrific staff that knows wine and wants you to enjoy your meal, and you have Vicoletto. Ravioli stuffed with Pheasant, Beetroot and rice and Gorgonzola ice cream (a Primi) was out of this world. Do not miss...this restaurant. I am going back.More
We greatly enjoyed our meal here. The owner has worked at La Gavroche and it shows- Gorgonzola ice cream! The food was imaginative, staff very friendly and a very pleasant environment. Top class in a very competitive environment.
We loved our meal here, our first night in Assisi. The staff treated us well and the food was melt in your mouth. The split our dishes for us, so we could easily share! One of our best meals in Italy thus far!
This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of our apartment in Assisi. Food was fabulous with some really diverse and interesting flavours. Beautiful outside seating and top class service. Highly recommend.
This is a lovely restaurant with a warm and welcoming feel. It was a quieter night so no problems with a table. Menu is interesting and broad enough for all tastes and preferences. We enjoyed all courses. Service was excellent.
