Your have to stop in for a glass of wine and something to eat

Maria and I were staying in San Gimignano and walk into Gustavo’s by chance. Georgio, 4th generation running it and his cousin were working the bar. There wine knowledge was excellent and there recommendations were top notch. We split a sandwich with our wine. Wow. More than enough to split and the quality was outstanding. We went in the next day and Georgio opened a bottle of Brunello for tasting - he thought it was one of the cost for price/quality. I agree. I took a bottle home with me. We also hd a bruschetta and a Gustavo metas and cheese plate. The value and quality of food is outstanding. We throughly enjoyed our time. I will miss these guys!

Nice place with friendly owners and staff

Here you can expect to find super friendly staff who deliver nicely prepared food with quality ingredients. We also found here a very well chosen list of wines by the glass. Good people, good food, good value. Easy to like this place!

Ok for a quick lunch

Tasty bruschettas and plates of cold cuts and cheeses. The service could improve by being more cordial to visitors as they are to Italians or at least a smile. Otherwise, it feels impersonal to say th least. Overall not bad if you are not in a rush and don't care for niceness of waiters.

Half a glass of wine and no peanuts no crisps…nothing.

We ordered two glasses of 5 euro rose. The guy said ‘would you like sparking?’ We said yes thinking it would be the same price. Two glasses of half filled wine layer (and accompanied by nothing) we were given a bill for €16. If you go here be careful that you make it clear what you want.

What a wonderful place to sit for lunch and watch the San Gimignano world go by. The cold cuts and cheese selection washed down with some local white wine, gosh it doesn’t get much better. The staff are very helpful and know their product very well.

Best bruschetta I’ve ever had!

Stumbled upon this place as a recommendation from another restaurant that wasn’t open yet when we were trying to get dinner. Sooo glad we did! It’s a small place with a quaint menu and very friendly service and oh my god is the food INCREDIBLE! We had the bruschetta and a type of salami sandwich with artichokes. Hands down the best we’ve ever had! That bruschetta was out of this world! My boyfriend doesn’t usually eat tomatoes but he couldn’t get enough of it! Highly recommend! Must give it a try when in San Gimignano!

The best break in San Gimignano. High quality wine and special “bruschette”. The little table facing the main street allow you to see the world go by. Stella and Giorgio, the owners, and the staff….. icing on the cake.

Very good local wine (Vernaccia di San Gimignano)

Enoteca Gustavo Mescitu Vini is located in one of the main streets in the old town of San Gimignano, a charming medieval town in Tuscany Region. Here, I came to taste some loca wines (especially Vernaccia di San Gimignano grapes). I drank two glasses of different wines: Casa Alle Vacche ok, Panizzi very good. Also, the place is very comfortable and the staff and other guests were very friendly with me. Really, I would like to come here again and eat something with the wine. Fantastic friendly and educated service - Devine food and wines

Friendly, informative service with excellent wine selection and fantastic food. We popped in for a drink and ended staying all evening. Highly recommend the Gustavo platter - providing an individual selection of meats, cheeses and bruschetta. Happy to make recommendations of wine choices which were perfect for our differing tastes. Great find - and if you are stud going to get a table ask and there may be room in the inner area! Thanks for a wonderful authentic Italian experience.

Friendly staff. Great food and drink.

Got in after a bike ride from San Miniano. Staff were super friendly and helpful for a couple of English speaking people in need of food and drink. Super good. Very tasty and wine was good. Small but staff made it perfect. Well worth it for an afternoon snack. Sorry no food and drink pics, photos were not on my to do list. Very reasonably priced.
