Don't be put off by the excellence of this restaurant, it is a fantastic place to have a meal, mid priced, but high end. We enjoyed one of the finest meals we had in Tusancy here, local dishes and the same price as the local "touristico" crap places to eat. This is a must eat in restaraunt.

The "slow food" movement in Italy is famous. Member restaurant commit to using authentic recipes, and using locally sourced food appropriate to the season. Dorando is just off the main square, yet few visitors spend less than one minute to walk off the beaten path. Directly across from the entrance to Dorando is a place touting true Neapolitan pizza --... More

We arrived here purely by chance walking around San Gimignano one evening. The menu looked tempting, lots of Tuscan food that we had seen on various menus but never tried, so we gave it a go. Friendly and attentive waitresses saw us to a table .The restaurant was empty when we went in a little after six - early for... More

Found Ristorante Dorando via a recommendation on an app, and was so happy. Was the nicest fine dining restaurant we went to during our week in Tuscany. The lady was delightful and very nice. Our lunch - delicious!!

Ristorante Dorando is down a small narrow street off the 1st piazza. It is worth the search to enjoy this gem. We shared a few dishes and these were outstanding: Rolled pastry crisp vegetables with zafferano of San Gimignano velvety and Risotto with shrimp, asparagus tops and a bisque of shrimp. Truly outstanding and a complex layer of flavors in... More

Pleasantly surprised to find such excellent food, artful presentation, impeccable but warm service, on a slow Tuesday night (San Gimignano seems to slow down earlier than Florence). Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. We had the stuffed Guinea hen (terrific) and the rabbit-stuffed pasta (beautiful). Neighboring table included children who were loving the food. Better than anything we have had... More

What a wonderful spot. I'm a big fan of the Italian slow-food tradition and this was a great example of it. I had the Pici with guinea‐hen ragout, VinSanto, flakes truffle and Pecorino di fossa cheese to start and then followed it with the Fillet of  Cinta  Senese local pork with bitter‐sweet apple purée. They were both glorious. Of all the meals we... More

Dorando is a cozy restaurant set near San Gimignano's Duomo. The decor was very nice. Most importantly, the traditional Tuscan food was delicious and the service very attentive! The wine list offers a wide selection of Tuscan wines. Highly recommended

The ambiance was excellent, the decor was perfect and the table was set for a romantic meal enjoyed by husband and wife. It even came with it's own high price meal which included a cover charge or 'coperti' of €2.50 each. This restaurant was neither high end nor was it an economy meal either but it served it's purpose with... More
