After a day walking through Pisa and along the wall ...it was time for a well earned Italian meal. We found La Tana (the den) right away very welcoming as we entered, and the pizza chef welcomed the three of us (husband, daughter and myself) in a very friendly manner. There were mainly locals (always a good sign in a... More

Visited this restaurant in Pisa this week, after asking for a family restaurant recommendation from the hotel we stayed at. Enjoyed a great meal, my girls loved the Pizzas and my wife and I a lovely starter and Pasta, washed down with a lovely bottle of Prosecco (just 10 Euro) Meals with starters, a desert and drinks under 60 euro,... Had a great meal here as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) Reasonably priced freshly prepared and very tasty food. We had a mixed meats starter to share, 3 pizzas (cooked in the wood-fired stove in front of us) and a porcini pasta dish, a litre of house wine, bottle of mineral water, and a divine homemade... Really frendly place, food was wonderful, service was much more than we was expecting. I went with my wife and little on (2.5 y). The owner came and talked a lot with us, about restaurant history and tireism in tuscany.

My boyfriend and I went for dinner here last night, and really enjoyed it. The pizza was delicious and well priced, the house wine was great value and tasty - overall I would highly recommend!

We went to this pizzeria with 4 friends, and had the calzone and gnocchi. Both were really good. One person took the menu of the day which was gnocchi with ham and courgette as primi piatti, and they were delicious. Great atmosphere during lunch, lots of locals came to eat here, but it wasn't too busy. Prices were reasonable, €6... More

Ate here for our final day in Pisa and wished we had found it sooner. The service was excellent and the Italians all smiled and were happy and friendly which was a new experience. They had a fire in the centre of the restaurants and all Pizzas were cooked to order and the atmosphere was great. Lovely food and reasonably... More

Was recomended to eat here by our host as somewhere the locals go to eat.... Fantastic! Brilliant classic Pizzeria, great menu, atmosphere etc. Packed with local people... very few tourists (like us!) Check it out... it's away from all the tourist eateries by the tower. Walk for 5 more minutes and you'll find it!

These guys were delighted when we came back on our second day, with Diego the pizza chef declaring our son to now be his "brother"! :) Excellent pizza, friendly service, reasonably priced. Can't fault it. They really made us feel at home, despite undoubtedly having to deal with hundreds of tourists a week!
