Typical Tuscany cuisine. The staff was super kind and helpful. If you're a tourist in Pisa, you need to try Il Campano. A special mention to Milena, whose an expert in their very large wine selection.

To save you the time of reading this review: DON’T GO HERE. There were no waiters around so we seated ourselves at a table and waited for about 5 minutes before someone came over. The waitress rudely told us to move to another smaller table...as there were only two of us. That should have been our hint to leave this place. We ordered a starter of cold meats and cheese (there was some overcooked, dry pork on there as well - apparently a local dish). The rude waitress came and dumped a brown bag of stale bread on the table. Yum. We had a pizza each - you needed a saw to cut these as they were completely over cooked and the crusts were thick, hard, and dry. The dough was definitely not freshly made, which is really disappointing for Italy. It should also be noted that once they brought out our pizzas, service essentially stopped and we never saw another waitress. As soon as we finished chewing the last disappointing bite, we went inside to pay. What a rubbish way to finish our holiday.More

When in Pisa I expect the commercial nature of restaurants to be the norm but that does not mean you should accept it. Visited Oct 15, the soup of the day was not belonging to today, meant to be tomato soup but served both hot...and cold depending what layer you hit in the bowl with the consistency of concrete ready to pour. The main course of braised pork was neither braised or hot. It was served cold and hard with onions which I have to say was the baes part of the meal. When reheated it was 2% better. I travel a lot and through various countries. The basic function of the restaurant was missed in customer service, quality of food and presentation. As customers we need to call out restaurants that are below par.More

We went here for a special meal for my partner’s birthday. We were looking forward to it so much, as it is supposed to have the best meat in Pisa. My partner ordered a fillet steak which was served medium/well done and had cheese on...it and a piece of salami and was served on a piece of bread. It honestly looked like a burger. To be fair they offered him another one as I politely complained on his behalf that it was overdone. Unfortunately my partner is someone who doesn’t like to make a fuss so he kept it but didn’t enjoy it. They did give us a 10% discount on the bill but it was just so disappointing. Also who wants to sit there while they’re partner’s eating while they’re preparing another meal? It should come out cooked properly. I ordered a rump steak with porcini which was cooked rare as I’d ordered but lacked seasoning and the meat just wasn’t very nice. We went to l’osteria I santi the previous night and the meat there was delicious. Go there instead! And it’s a lot cheaper!More

It’s always a pity for me to write a negative review, cause it remembers me of bad meal... The quality of the meat seemed good (can’t complain), but the first two tagliatas we ordered arrived cold, but medium (as ordered). It’s not subjective... the thin...lardo on top didn’t melt... so it indeed was cold. We informed the waitress and very gently she decided to take back the plates and cook us other two steaks. 10 minutes later other two tagliatas arrived.. this time they were warm, but well done... a clear sign that they warmed up our old steaks. The waitress started arguing with me about what “medium” means. We paid and left without hearing a “good bye” from her. Absolutely not recommended! There are a lot of good places in Tuscany, not this oneMore

we had a dinner with friend and was a great experience, Good wine, amazing pasta (we tried tagliatelle with lard and black cabbage and pici with wild board sauce) the fiorentina we had after was great. Only point with all those great things we remain...a little disappointed with the quality of "vin santo" served with cantuccini biscuits. Service was good and attentiveMore

I went with my partner looking for an last amazing experience with my favorite culinary dish and we were really disappointed with this place. I ordered the tagliatelle with porcini, it was if I was eating pieces of soil and I couldn’t eat it the...flavor for a porcini was really poor. My partner had Gigli al Ragu and it was dry and the meat was undercooked, at least the house wine was good. At the end when we asked for the bill there was no discount offered. Staff were average.More

Firstly we did not have a reservation but we had none at any other places in out holiday. They did accommodate us. They were busy and we were seated near the outside with no fan it was 30 degrees, so quite hot. After taking orders...of beef and spaghetti/ pasta a bowl of dry bread was dumped on table by waitress walking past. No olive oil, balsamic vinegar etc was given or asked. The spaghetti dish which was supposed to be tomato, garlic, chilli and olive oil had no taste of garlic or olive oil. It was one of the worst basic tomato spaghetti eaten. The beef fillet €25 was not cooked to how we requested and was placed on a stale bread. It was tasteless. The other breaded cod and plain chick peas were equally tasteless. Food aside It felt as if they couldn't be bothered if we were there or not. Not once did anyone ask if everything was ok, only at end after dinner we were asked and if we wanted desserts. We decided not to have dessert. I was recommended a couple of restaurants by the hotel we were staying at - this one for meat ( it didn't live up to any expectations) and another restaurant for Fish (that turned out to be fantastic even though they were busy and we went with no booking). Based On this experience we cannot recommend this restaurant.More

We got 2 pasta from the menu. The appearance of the dish was awful, the amount of pasta too little for the price (9 euros) and the quality was mediocre. Also, they charged us 1 euro for the water that was "from the machine" (it...was tap water) and 2 euros per person for 3 slices (total) of old bread. The wine was good and they have a wide variety (hence the 2 stars). Overall a bad experience, not worth it if you plan on eating dinner/lunch, maybe ok if you go only for the wine.More

I definitely do not recommend the restaurant. The food is OK, nothing special but not bad. The service, however, is awful. We had a reservation at 9pm, we go into the restaurant and find a woman (the owner I believe) busy making calculations. I said...that I had a reservation and was sushed. I was then told to wait outside and that I would have been called when my table was free. After 30 min and after seeing many people who just arrived sitting down, I went back in and complained. The woman told that she called me several times and that it was my fault. Only problem, was that no one came out to call me (or any of the other people who were waiting with us) and she was two doors away to be heard, had she really called my name. We went in, sat down and asked if we could order as we had time to choose what we wanted in the 30 min wait. The "nice" waitress told us that we had to wait our turn, because there were other people who arrived before us. When I went to pay, the woman told me that, because I complained (right..), the coffee was on the house. I even thanked her, to find out 3 sec later that the coffee was on the bill. The witch made fun of me. So, please avoid this place if you want to have a nice experience in Pisa.More
