We couldn’t get in the first night so had to go back ... and again ..
Saturday Night in Livorno. Went for a local pizza. Sestante was recommended. Had a good appetite and started with classic prosciutto and cheese. Some great cheeses, only one ham on the plate. But a good one though
Pizza fantasia did not create any fantasies. Salami...Milanese does not have a lot of taste and the local added cheese didn't either.
On to the desserts. No panna cota, no tiramisu. Let's try a creme caramel. And so we did. Fair but not special.
Service was excellent and food served fast and fluently
The focaccia for starters was really great. Best impression of the dayMore
We went there with some American friends and had Pizza for the adults and pasta for the kids. Everyone was very pleased with their food and the kids ate everything which was a really good sign. They were even willing to make changes to the...plates if the kids wanted something different in their sauce.More
I went to dinner with friends and family, a table of five, at this lovely little restaurant 'Sestante'. We dined on Saturday evening and called earlier that day for a 'prenotazione'. When we arrived we were greeted warmly by staff and lead to our spacious...corner table in a comfy little outdoor courtyard. They have indoor dining as well obviously but we were lucky to sit under the cool august night sky I am writing this review in English because there are not any English reviews for this establishment at the this time. We were a table of Italian Americans who are bilingual but I did notice they have an English menu for diners not fluent in Italian.
This relatively new establishment has both impeccable service and staff as well as great attention to detail an delicious food. We ate a full coursed meal with apperitivi, primi, secondi, e dolce with wine/beer for everyone at roughly 38 euro a head which is not the most inexpensive experience but also, in my opinion, a great deal for the quality of food and service we received.
The food was delicious. They have a traditional (simple) menu for the Tuscan seaside. They do a seafood carbonara which is not my personal favorite (I don't mix land and sea) but two other members of our party ate this for their primo and were raving about its deliciousness. Every dish was beautifully plated... I cannot think of one thing that did not impress.
I was absent minded... or maybe just to full and happy and left my little sweater behind and one of the waitstaff chased us down the street to return it to me... just an example of above and beyond service standard they provide....More
