Authenitic, local, totally delicious Italian food. I had the best steak of my life here. You may need reservations so call ahead if you can. It's definitely off the beaten track but was very close to where we were staying.

Mario is a local restaurant managed in simple way. The fiorntina was a littlebit overcooked and the rabbit too stuffed with frittata. The place full of local people. Some dishes has to be reviewed

Not only is this authentic and homemade, but the wines like house wine, carafe, chianti - rocks. super cheap and the best chianti we had on our 2 week trip through Italy. Sometimes the owners kids are running around - makes it all the more fun. Not fancy, though some of our meals were over the top big and gourmet.... More

We were staying nearby at Agriturismo Montereggi and he suggested we eat here, at first we weren't sure as they don't speak English but after some sign language (menu is in English so lots of pointing) we ended up with a lovely meal and fab chianti. Try the Wild Boar with Olives - melts in your mouth and the Tiramisu... More

Of course you could eat in Florence, but it is hard to find such a good and authentic restaurant. So if you are by car, do yourself a favour and experience real good food amongst italians.

We had two meals here while staying at a nearby Villa for three days. When I say "we", I mean me (American) my husband (Italian) and another couple (both Italian) So I think I can say with some certainty that it was classic Tuscan, not haute cuisine, if that's what you're after, but authentic Italian. Very good indeed. Not over... More

We stopped by for the set menu lunch which was absolutely amazing! Everything was fresh and the tastes were perfect. My only complaint is that my stomach isn't bigger so I could eat more :)

The bistecca fiorentina at Mario is simply excellent! I think it beats most much more expensive places in Florence. all other dishes are excellent too but the bistecca is special!
