One block from our rented vacation apartment on Via Fra. Bartolommeo. Very nice owner and excellent food. Very low key atmosphere and the compact inside decor belies the food. The peppery, steamed mussels( impepata), carbonara and tagliatella ragu (spaghetti bolognese) were all excellent. Staff appear to be family and all speak at least elemental English. Off the beaten path a... More

This hidden gem is a small family owned restaurant. We had two delicious and well priced meals at this restaurant during our stay in Florence. The city center had lots of overpriced restaurants and I don't think we could have found anything more delicious than the meals at Il Micio. They also helped translate the words on the menu that... In October my wife & I had the opportunity to spend 6 wonderful days in Florence, staying at a great AirBnB, 15 minutes from the Academia. On our first evening, it was late and we found the Il Micio by accident, which was only 2 blocks from our apt. It was a wonderful surprise, only about 8 tables and from... More

The menu had a lot of fish, so if you like that, you have come to the right place. I ate fish the day before, and was looking for something else... We ate pasta which looked store bought, and it didn't taste much (carbonara and tortellini).

Il Micio is literally my favorite restaurant in Florence. I'm and american student who's been living in Florence for a year and Il Micio has been my regular place. I've gotten food here almost weekly. The cuisine is top notch, excellent quality for fantastic value and I've never been disappointed by a dish on their menu. Moreover the atmosphere is... More

A few minutes from the center, we found a place with a great kitchen and nice owner. We felt there like at home. We recommend especially bistecca alla Fiorentina, scaloppina, fried small fish and home made cakes. Prices lower than in the center and the food excellent.

We visited this little restuarant, across the road from our hotel Casa Lea. It is a little out of town but the food and service was great value. Fresh and very tasty pasta. We were very happy as around the main area of Florence the food is double the money and not fresh ingredients, more like frozen dinners. Give this... More

Stumbled onto Il Micio as I was late for lunch. They kindly consented to serve me. The wife speaks English which was equally charming. Simple but extensive menu of pastas n fish or meat. I had the Spaghetti Alla Carrettiera and Baccala con Cevi. Fresh well cooked n tasty fare. Highy recommended for a local Florentine cooking.

WE came here our first night in Florence. The chef was so nice and sweet, translated the whole menu for us from Italian to English and had the dinner ready in a really short time! It was very good and felt like you were a guest rather than a client. WE really enjoyed it and would reccommend it to anyone... More

This neighborhood restaurant near Piazza Savanarola has recently changed hands and has been updated. The atmosphere is cozy, bright, and friendly. The food is excellent and yet still affordable. I went there for either lunch or dinner almost every day of my three weeks stay in Florence. I recommend it highly. John Francis, Architect
