After a long and tiring sightseeing tour we stopped for snacks at this little shop. The days we were here we noticed that queues are non-stop but service is quick. It is very popular, the staff speaks English well and they are very friendly. There is no seating but who cares! Grab your sandwich and a blog away come to... More

Loved this place! A simple hole in the wall serving panini's and wine quickly, freshly made and very tasty. A huge menu of fillings to choose from and only 5 euros each including the wine. You eat by the side of the hole (there's little shelves to hold your wine while you eat) - perfect for watching the world go... More

I rarely eat at placed full of tourists and search for local places. But this one was one of the few exceptions. Very acceptable price for a delicious sandwich and a glass of ok wine. I preferred tuna, onions and tomato. It's so close to Florence's cathedral and worth trying.

Saw a queue, so went and joined it !!! It was for a sandwich shop ..... well not so much a shop .... just a counter really and doing a roaring trade !! ...... Lots of people standing in the street eating their sandwiches ! Super fresh bread rolls, simple tasty fillings, all made fresh to order, and at a... More

We love this place! The sandwiches are made fresh to order, and the price is right. Two brothers own it, and I believe their motto is; "If you don't eat with us today, we'll starve." We were first introduced to this place by a tour guide, and it has become very popular. If you are in Florence, don't miss Due... More

Just a couple of small streets from Uffizzi, so I would suggest you give a miss to the overpriced terraces in the square and stop by this little hole in a wall. Nice, fresh sandwiches and very decent chianti on bottle. The street in front of the place obviously gets very crowded but having a quick bite and a drink... More

Found the church, Orsanmichele and turned on a small street, via de Cimatori, to find this small sandwich and wine stand. I was handed a menu in English to order from 30 sandwiches. The bread was toasted and great tasting. The variety of fillings were also delicious. There is no place to sit unless you sit on the street curb.... More

This was a real find in a little back street a few streets away from the Vecchio. It's very, very, busy, but great, fast, friendly service with a smile. Lovely warm bread rolls with fillings from a list of 29. All seem to be only 3 euros and glasses of wine start from 1.50 euros. Would highly recommend

On this place you can eat good italian sandwich and drink a glass of italian wine for 5 Eur. All the time there are about 10 people in the line waiting, but thats mean about 5 min waiting. You can choose between about 20 different sandwiches and several wines. Just correct and unussual.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
