We grabbed a quick early dinner on New Year's Day. Service was friendly and speedy, food was pleasant without being outstanding, prices were reasonable. Two pastas, one shared side dish, with mineral water, no coffees, all up 33.30 euro.

I have been to Italy many times but this restaurant is a little gem. Our group at there the first evening of our trip and also on the last. The owner Gianni accommodated our off the menu requests for our toddler as well as kept us entertained with great conversation throughout both evenings. The food was very reasonably priced and the... Our family/friend group of 12 arrived late afternoon in Florence. We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant that miraculously had room to seat us all together. Our food, wine and service was absolutely fabulous. Thank you so much for starting our vacation with such a great family meal.

After spending the morning in the Uffizi Palace, we headed across the Arno to another museum and spotted this place along the way. The clam spaghetti was delightful and the wine crisp and cold. Service was friendly and efficient. We loved it!

Traveling with wife and 20 year old daughter who is a vegetarian. Went because of good reviews on Trip Advisor and proximity to our Hotel after a long day of touring and shopping. Followed the recommendation of a previous reviewer and had the Tuscany stew.. it was wonderful! The owner waited on us and was very nice and attentive without... More

We found Trattoria Camillo Cavour our first evening in Florence and after traveling all day. We were tired, hungry and wanted something close to our hotel down the street. We were seated immediately. Our waiter recommended a great bottle of wine that we enjoyed over our salads and pastas. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We... More

We visited this family restaurant after a busy morning sightseeing. Great food and very friendly service - not rushed, made feel very welcome. Eggplant parmigiana was delicious & waiter suggested a new dessert they may add to the menu - melt in your mouth! Definitely recommend.

Of the many restaurants in Florence serving pasta, main courses and pizza, this was the best place we tried for good food at reasonable value. Service was very friendly. Location is just far enough north of the Duomo to be less crowded.

This restaurant was just couple of buildings away from our hotel and based upon Trip Advisor reviews we decided to give it a shot. And we did not regret doing so! Camillo Cavour is a small restaurant but one feels like home here. Menu is both in english and italian, so no need to ask. We opted for aperitif and... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
