Such amazing food at a great price! I loved the authenticity of the market, the service was amazing and the staff were very kind. Traditional food at very good prices and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting
Fantastic bustling lunchtime trattoria within the Sant’Ambrogio indoor food market. Bench seating means you might be seated with others, and it’s quite a limited menu, but the food is excellent. Be warned this isn’t a place to lounge and linger, brisk service and quick turnaround...is the order of the day; not that the staff will hurry you, but the inevitable queue of customers waiting for a seat can be quite intimidating! Definitely a place to visit if you want to feel like a “local”, but make sure you get there for 12:15 if you want a seat straight away…More
In a crowded market, we lined up for a seat and glad we waited. Spaghetti de la mare, pesto lasagna, meatballs, Chianti (1 euro per glass honor system). Sat at a crowded table where people had to crawl over us to leave. All part of...the experience. If you get a table where you can see into the kitchen, you will be amazed by the food that comes out of a tiny space!More
Grab a seat and watch this place thrive with activity. Superb friendly service and fantastic food. Eating here on a Saturday afternoon was the best experience I had in the city. I was alone made to feel very welcome chatting to locals and waiters. The...range and standard of Tuscan dishes was great!More
Stopped In for lunch while In the area.. potatoes Cold and meatballs a bit bready but the chicken perfectly done and the very pasta layered lasagne..wow delicate and almost like ravioli
Located in the Sant’Ambroggio market, ideal to have a quick lunch. Nothing fancy, quick and friendly service, simple and tasty food, good value for money (Primi 6eur, Secondi 7eur, Contorni 3.5eur, Wine 2eur, Dessert 3eur) We’ll be back!
This is by far my favourite place to eat in Florence. Feels like home - when home is a crowded, loud, fun, colorful gathering of friendly people having lunch all togheter as a big family. The food is like the food a real Italian grandmother...would serve to her grandchildren on Sundays family reunions (great portions and super tasty local products). The price is unbeatable. The staff treats you like you have been their friends since ages. You share the table and sometimes a bottle of wine with strangers. If you are looking for an authentic, raw, casual experience, this is THE place!More
Been there for lunch on Sunday with my partner. Ended up there occasionally, walking around santa Croce area. Food was delicious -genuine italian food- (lots of locals were having lunch there, I believe we were the only tourists). Staff was friendly but not invading, amazing...value for money. Highly recommended.More

If you are in the market for a delicious, authentic, atmosphere fuelled local lunch then this is the place. Simple Italian dishes full of flavour - served at record speed. Totally recommend.

Excellent, simply prepared food with very fresh ingredients. Several vegetarian options. Quick and friendly service at price that seems like you're underpaying by way too much. Located in a "mall-like" setting, so not easy to find if you're looking for a street address; just enter...big square market building and you are there.More
We had just arrived in Florence, and exiting the Accadamia notice an email from a friend we intended to visit a few days in the future: It said one of his favorite places was the restaurant in the Marcato San Ambrogio, Trattoria Da Rocco. We...made our was about a 1/2 mile to find a small square Piazza Lorenzo Ghiberti. There we found an obviously very old and quite extraordinary market with a covered area for shops selling meats and sausages, others selling poultry, yet others selling cheeses, and firmly ensconced in the center of them all was Trattoria da Rocco, and restaurant with a very odd set up: the service aisle was was in the center and about six tables for six were aligned off each side of the aisle like oars off a boat. In most cases, the servers worked from the center taking orders and delivering the plates from the center. We waited for a few minutes waiting for seats to open up, and were shortly given two on the outside. Our server came out to us, after serving the four people inside us from the center. We had meatballs, pasta, salads, chianti in a basket weave bottle (one is charged only for what one takes, a simple panna cotta dessert and good coffee. Fun, fast, and the price was right.More
