What a wonderful new restaurant in a perfect location along the Arno river!
My mother and I reserved a special Capodanno dinner event here on the 31st. The service was fantastic, everyone that worked there was beyond helpful, friendly, fun, and attentive. The ambience inside the restaurant was inviting and sophisticated. They have some outfoor seating space as well that would be great in the warmer months with a perfect view over the river.
For Capodanno they offered 2 prix fixe menu options, reasonably priced (Terra & Mare), both with exciting and appetizing options. The food was very tasty and they were good portions (I was so full by the end!). They also gave us a champagne toast at midnight, which we all took outside to watch the fireworks and join in the celebration. It was a very memorable experience that I am grateful to have had.
Hopefully, I get to travel back here in the summer months to revisit! Please go check it out for yourselves.

Happened upon Oltrano Ristorante Toscano without reservation. Having been wondering around, we (family of 5 adults) couldn’t decide where to eat… but this restaurant ticked all our boxes… great location & ambience with attentive staff, clean & comfy chairs & menu to suit mid price range. Our table had 2 steak meals, 2 chicken & 1 pork - (sides of roast potatoes &!mixed salad) (and only tiramisu shared) as we were full!!! All were very satisfied with their meal. We couldnt agree on red wine choice but the waiter suggested a 35 euro rosso montelcino which all enjoyed. This new place will no doubt increase in popularity quickly… we will eat the BIG Bistecca Fiorentina here before we leave Firenze!

Oltrarno ristorante offers an exquisite dining experience that transcends expectations. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance envelops you in an elegant warmth, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dinner. The menu, a tuscan masterpiece, showcases a delightful fusion of flavors .
I had the pappardel cinghiale and ribollita , absolutely one of the best pasta ive ever had . Their wine selection was very good as well and affordable , basically for the price you pay at a liquor store in america here you can get a really good bottle of wine .
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, i will definitely be back and i already recommended this restaurant to few friends in the States .

Our first evening in Florence was marred by a frustrating and unpleasant experience at Oltrarno Ristorante Toscano. What should have been a memorable Florentine steak dinner turned into a terrible evening, punctuated by poor service and miscommunication.
The problems began immediately upon being seated. The host informed us that steak availability was limited, which was already a red flag for a restaurant specializing in Florentine steak, and it was only 7 pm. I requested four steaks for our party of four, but due to a language barrier, only one arrived at our table.
The real issues arose when we inquired about the missing steaks. Instead of addressing the problem professionally, the host became visibly agitated and raised his voice at me in front of my family. This confrontational behavior was completely unacceptable and made us all uncomfortable.
The miscommunication continued when we attempted to order an additional steak. After a 15-minute wait, the host returned to confirm our order, revealing that they hadn't even begun preparing it. This caused us to have to further wait.
The combination of poor communication, subpar service, and an aggressive attitude from the staff turned what should have been a delightful introduction to Florentine cuisine into a stressful and disappointing affair. It's unfortunate that this was our family's first impression of dining in Florence.
I cannot recommend this restaurant to others, especially tourists who may face similar language barriers. There are undoubtedly better options in Florence that can provide both quality food and service without the unnecessary drama.

Oltrarno Ristorante Toscano
Sir if you don't know how to communicate it's not our fault, next time get informed well about the food when you go in a country that you haven't been before, if you don't know how to explain what you want, that means you don't know how to explain things, and in the end going to the waiter and saying them to 'shut up'. Congrats on your education for being disrespectful in front of other people and showing who you are! Luckily you will not be anymore our customer...

New Year's Eve dinner, fixed land or sea menu of your choice. We choose the ground one: "mixed" appetizer of cold cuts (1 slice of one type of salami, 1/4 slice of another type of salami, 1 slice of raw) and cheeses (4 slices but of the same cheese and without not even an accompanying sauce). The fake cutting board (the cutting board wasn't there) also included 3 constipated seasoned croutons. Everything looked bad and crowded into a single dish. In a separate dish, they bring us a mushroom pie with cheese fondue, this is good, but it would have been appreciated to receive it at a later time as it is a hot dish (unlike the mixed dish), and because the presence of four is difficult to manage dishes at the same time on the table, which are already small in size.
To follow, the menu included an encore of first courses, which was not an encore as they were served to us at the same time on the same plate: 6 large dumplings with an indefinite taste and 3 large forkfuls of capon tagliatelle. The cooking of the pasta was questionable (probably pre-cooked and was sticky), the sauce was full of bone fragments from the questionable capon (which tasted like rabbit).
The only saveable dish on the menu was the second which included a "Large piece of baked beef" (good) with roast potatoes (remarkable).
The dinner ended with a banal millefeuille.
Nice atmosphere, tastefully furnished place, wide choice of wines, service that leaves something to be desired. At the table next to ours, after serving the starter, the second course was brought directly, forgetting about the first. At the table behind us, however, the starters from the wrong menu were served.
Then there was the shocking scene of a plate inadvertently falling to the floor from one of the tables, which the staff did not bother to pick up and instead swept up the pieces of earthenware. The diners had to independently collect the pieces of the broken plate which they then placed on the table, where they remained until the end of the dinner, without the staff bothering to collect them.
For a New Year's Eve dinner it fell completely short of expectations, the menu lacking in originality as well as mediocre workmanship. Not least is the price of the menu of €85 per person (excluding wine) which is not at all in line with the quantity and quality of what was eaten.
Not to go back.

Oltrarno Ristorante has been open only a month, but is very polished, beautifully decorated, warm, and comfortable - and with a view of the river and Ponte Santa Trinita. Tables outside for warmer weather.
Service was friendly and professional, and most importantly the food was excellent. For two people, we shared a porcini flan with pecorino sauce, then each had a pasta (tagliarini with black truffles for me, and pici all’aglione for him). Then a shared faraona (Guinea fowl) with roast grapes, sautéed spinach, and perfect roast potatoes. Zuccotta for dessert.
Very good quality ingredients, and a fair price. Definitely a restaurant to return to!

We ate here as a group following a fantastic day of exploring Florence, ready to have some high quality primi, excited by the positive reviews.
Sadly we were sorely disappointed by both the quality of the food and some of the “tricks” of the trade used to increase our bill.
The underhand “tricks”:
I was both surprised and disappointed to experience these despite the good reviews.
1. Expensive bottled water automatically given despite the request for tap water. As you can imagine, this added up across the group
2. Expensive bread baskets automatically brought to the table and added to the bill. The bread was stale and balsamic tasted odd. Hugely overpriced and poor quality overall considering the quality of bread, oil and balsamic across the country.
Quality of the food:
- Stale bread in the “free” bread baskets
- Truffle ravioli was overly creamy
- “Tuscan” garlic and tomato pasta lacked flavour, ultimately tasting like a plain tomato pasta
- hare pasta lacked flavour
- €8 side salad was past its best and resembled a supermarket mixed salad with some tomatoes chopped into it.
- lasagne was the only dish which was positively received
Overall, a truly disappointing trip considering the reviews and this was our one day trip into Florence. We ultimately left hugely underwhelmed and surprised by the underhand “tricks” used to drive revenue.

There were 6 of us and we all liked everything, the prices were very fair for the quality of the food they offer.
We were all more than satisfied, the staff were kind and polite for any request you have, a very quiet place to have a dinner or lunch with friends or for a romantic dinner. The very good Florentine steak is recommended for those who want to try it for the first time!
Super satisfied and highly recommended even for those who go there for the first time!

We were early for our reservation and were allowed to come in ahead of time and was treated by the wonderful staff with recommendations that’s helped my wife and I pick entrees that were exactly what we were looking for! The owner and chef also came to speak to us and made us feel right at home. Will definitely be coming back when we are in Florence again!

The restaurant is very cosy and beautiful, the menu offers very nice dishes at fair prices. We had the lasagna and the truffle pasta. The lasagna was spectacular and the pasta was a simple buttery sauce pasta with truffle, very good. The service made us we feel very welcome. A complimentary limoncello was the perfect ending for a very nice evening. We definitely recommend it!

A great place to come to right off the Arno. Staff were so accommodating and pleasant. In a line of great restaurants this one stood out in service. There was a gluten free member of the party and a staff member went out to get gluten-free bread. Beyond.

A lovely place, excellent decoration, very appropriate ambient music, very friendly employees, we ordered a starter recommended by the waiter, risotto and spaghetti carbonara, for dessert tiramisu. All very good, excellent preparation and presentation. Before we go, we'll eat here again.

I went with my best friend on the day the restaurant opened and we were welcomed very warmly. The staff made us feel like family right away, offering us amazing dishes. The dinner began with various crostini offered by the house, and then continued with a very particular platter of cold cuts and cheeses, accompanied by a pepper jam and truffle honey. On the advice of the owner we ordered a bottle of red wine which went perfectly with both the platter and the limousine with fillet, cooked to perfection. The sophisticated furnishings and the staff's attention to detail left us with a wonderful memory of the evening. Next time we return to Florence it will be a must.

Me M 18 and my family M 56, M 16, and F 54 went here to chomp on some food for dinner. When all of a sudden, bang. The largest piece of streak comes out😱. I was suprised by the size and question the taste of it, but oh jolly good boy it was very tasty on my tongue😋. The spot is next to the river, so i got a nice cool breeze as the cars pass by making my body just the right temperature! ☺️ very cool and eating outside was definitely the play😎. I would recommend to eat T bone steaks with 2-3 people because they are HUGE 🤯🤯🤯 We also got the tiramisu and it was busting🤗 The service was amazing and i love our server very much because he was so polite, nice, and caring. 10/10

We had an excellent dinner and were very impressed by Andy for whom nothing was too much trouble. The plate of Tuscan meats was great . My wife’s spaghetti with clams was very good and my tagliata was cooked as rare as I had asked and delicious. Andy recommended a Bolgheri wine which went perfectly with the food.
A lovely evening.
