This restaurant was recommended to us by our tour guide when we toured a day in Tuscany. Very busy pizzeria, very comfortable, welcoming, and great pizza! We eat pizza wherever we go and this is hands down one of the best we ever had. Will deginitely recommend this restaurant.

We just had an awesome meal at La Dantesca and only because we asked a lady working at a shoe store where to get a great Pizza. She was correct in every way, service was great and knew English really well. This place knows how to make a pizza. The Wood Burning oven makes it awesome.

This restaurant is most definitely over rate. We came here for dinner on our last night in Florence. The service was very poor. We ordered wine which we never got but we're charged for it. We were totally disappointed as this restaurant; considering its location, has lots of potential.

Real nice! The pizza is great and the service even better. It's a short walk from the Duomo and not as touristy.

We dined here for dinner whilst touring Italy. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy as it was quite early in the evening. I went for the Lasagna and we shared a Greek salad. Both very good. We washed the meal down with a nice bottle of Chianti. We were both quite full after the main so skipped a dessert. The bill... More

This place was recommended by a local tour guide. We stopped by for an early dinner one night and we're very impressed. The staff were friendly, the pizza was very good and the price was reasonable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Absolutely delicious food. Very authentic, good service, very reasonable price. Fantastic! The spaghetti bolognese and pizza diavola were both truly delicious. Enormous portions! Highly recommend. For 1/4ltr house wine, bottle of water, 1 pizza dish, 1 pasta dish and bread it came to 32 Euros.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
