My friends and I had driven from Rome and were tired and hungry so we decided to have a late lunch at La Loggia after visiting the Michaelangelo sculpture. It was around 230PM when the lunch rush was almost over. There was no one to seat us so we just walked around and found a table that had yet to... More

The location is wonderful. Located just by the San Miniato church, slightly above Florence, it offers a wonderful view of the city and a little bit more breeze than the city. The food is good, presented well with dishes from Tuscan and Mediterranean cuisine. In the negative side, the service is slow, we came early, there weren't many people waiting,... More

Decided to stop for a drink whilst visiting Piazza Michelangelo, the restaurant is situated on a slight hill overlooking Florence and a copy of the statue of David (original is placed in the Galleria dell'Accademis to preserve it). The view from La Loggia is breathtaking. We ordered a bottle of Chianti Classico 2014 which went down rather swiftly accompanied with... More

One of the best locations in Firenze overlooking the city and Statue of David. We had the chateaubriande for two along with an fabulous bottle of Poggio Alle Mura Tuscan. For dessert we had the chocolate soufflé and tiramisu. All of the food was outstanding as we watched the sunset over Firenze. Highly recommended.

Delicious food (recommend the spaghetti carbonara) and outstanding views. Good sunny space outside and more salubrious interior for a posher experience. Apparently visited by prominent leading figures of the 20th century.

On the outside the place looks like a 5 star, well dressed waiters, classy decorations etc..Once you start ordering you find out the mediocrity. We ordered a couple of classical first courses (tortellini and carbonara) poorly presented and tortellini's ragù was the day's before. Also too expensive (15 euros per dish, 7 euros for a bottle of coca cola) disappointing.

This looked great, impressive and with a bird's eye view over Florence, but there was work going on, the seats, cushions and chairs were definitely past their best and the waitress seemed tired as well. Food fairly ordinary, so worth a coffee or drink to relax and take in the view, but sadly not a lot more. Huge potential not... More

I was put off by some of the reviews I had read for this restaurant but decided to book to sit on the Terrace anyway. Our experience was excellent. The food was great and the views across Florence from this area are exceptional. The service from our waiter, Enea, was also excellent and helped to make the evening perfect. We... More

My family and I stopped here for a drink after visiting Piazza Michelangelo. The place looked inviting enough and the Waiters we friendly. Before we ordered our drinks we changed our mind and decided to have dinner in the Restaurant. I wish we hadn't! We ordered tortellini in brodo, which was insipid and the tortellini was over cooked and soggy.... More

Dining at La Loggia was the best meal I had while in Italy. A simple email was all it took to open the door to all my dining options. They were flexible and kept me well informed throughout. The dining room is dressy but not intimidating or formal. It's not appropriate for children. The food was delicious and the service... More

Description
A good lunch and a good dinner not measured only in stars, but also smiles and that's what we offer to our customers. Our team offers a thoughtful service but never intrusive, trying to form a relationship based on the quality and confidence that will endure over time. In the summer you can enjoy your lunch or dinner under the Loggia outside and in front of the Garden Porch in elegant ambience and a panoramic setting of rare beauty. On colder days and in the winter we move inside, where you will host two plush rooms and cozy with a beautiful view of the Piazzale Michelangelo and the city of Florence. The kitchen is the heart of the restaurant, where they are prepared every day with great fantasy: ... The right menu for every occasion ... ... The right flavor for every palate ...

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
