This restaurant was in the road parallel to the location of our hotel so we decided to try it on our first full day in Florence. The street it’s located in is not initially encouraging but this is quite a pleasant place once inside with...More

We dropped in here without a reservation, but it was no problem to accommodate us. A complimentary glass of prosecco to start and one of limoncello to finish were examples of the restaurant's desire to please. Our beef and pasta choices were excellent and the...More

We had amazing food and great service in an electic, cozy atmosphere. We sat in the small dining room where you could see into the kitchen. It was fun to watch the chef and his team work; they are a well-oiled machine and happy to...More

The restaurant interior has the feeling of being in someone's house with a very eclectic taste in artwork! We were given a complementary Prosecco and an amuse bouche on arrival. I chose a "special" to start, which I thoroughly enjoyed; asparagus tagliatelle, some of the...More

The ambience is really nice, nice paintings all over and nice story behind the origins of this place. But the service made our experience pretty bad! There was a pretty bad draught so we had asked our waiter if anything was open because it was...More

Ciao thanks for taking your time to leave this feedback, it is always important to listen to your customers. I am very sorry for the room temperature and yes there was a tiny service window open that night ( not a main one as you...More

Food was terrific here and the kids were totally entertained by drawing on the tablecloth - my daughter turned it into a game with her dad where they made a list of what would be in their ideal room and then drew the room. The...More

San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind
stalls with an array of products in one of the most
traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different
ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor
market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a

"La Cucina del Garga" arrived on the Florence restaurant scene when Chef Alessandro Gargani returned from an 8 year run as Executive Chef in New York City's famous "Mezzogiorno Restaurant" in SOHO. It is there that he practiced his craft, honed his recipes and started his family. From an early age, his parents Sharon Oddson and Giuliano Gargani AKA "Il Garga" had instilled in him their passion for food and art. In 2010, he returned to his hometown to continue the family tradition born at The Trattoria in Via del Moro and then brought here to Via San Zanobi.
The restaurant is an art gallery as well as showcase where talented local artists have the opportunity to show their work and customers can purchase paintings or sculptures to enrich their own private collections.
