Whilst visiting Florence we looked for somewhere to have a break from the crowds, as well as lunch. This place is just off the main piazza, the prices are good, comfortable chairs, inside/outside seating and food is great. We didn't have a dessert but they looked lovely. There are so many eaterys in Florence, this one was opposite another which... More

This restaurant is a true gem. It was recommended by our travel agent who arranged the 4 course lunch menu for our group of 6. The main course, Beef Florentine was amazing. We will be returning this spring and this restaurant is a must for us!

A lovely outdoor restaurant on a beautiful street. Our waiter was so warm & friendly (aka Honey). He welcomed us with a glass of red on the house. Food was delicious.

Shared a bruschetta and had a tagliatelli with porcini which was okay. Partner had carpaccio but it was frozen to the point of hurting your tongue. After a remark we first got an explenation about how carpaccio is supposed to be eated and cooled down. . . After some words from here to there she also got the tagliatelli. Price... More

I couldn't find words at the time to describe the heavenly tastes we've had the pleasure to experience at this restaurant ! DO NOT MISS the T-Bone steak ! No matter what your budget is. This is one of the best culinary experiences I've ever had. What we had: The Eggplant Melanzane, The Charcuterie (meat cuts) platter, and some bruschettas... More

The famous Fiorentina steak was excellent as were the rest of the dishes we ordered. However, 250€ for a dinner of 7, with only 5 beers-no wine, is a bit steep.

We have been visiting Florence for many years and now have an apartment in the city. And each and every one of our stays starts, and ends, with a visit to Nico at Osteria dell Olio. The food is wonderful, but the experience created by Nico and Lediana is even better. Olio is located close to the Duomo (which is... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
