We had dinner here our first night in Florence and were so happy with our choice. We sat outside, it was a little chilly and they had the outdoor heaters on to make it very comfortable. The waiters were charming and spoke good English. We started with the Buratta cheese appetizer, it was delicious, I had the Ossobuco, it was... More

Cozy centrally located restuarant with great service. We shared the Florentine steak which was prepared to perfection. The kids ordered seafood pastas which they enjoyed. Reasonably priced and overall enjoyable experience.

Small and cozy restaurant with few seats outside. The food is good. The pizza is also good but not excellent. Service is very friendly. Good to visit if you are around.

A rustic, cozy place a few steps from the Uffizzi, this is a charmer. The service is attentive though with a lapse or two. The menu is extensive with traditional Tuscan antipasti (crostini, mixed salamis, boar sausage...), a huge variety of first courses with a longer list of risotti than usual, a typically large selection of meats and a much... Staff is quite friendly and quick, there are enough waiters so they serve guests quickly, food was really good for reasonable prices considering location. Just the toilets are to avoid if possible.

Three weeks ago we visited Firenze for three days and on our first night our hotel recommend this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We started with Fattoria del Cerro Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2012 which we liked a lot and my husband had a vegetable soup and me a mushroom soup. Both were very good. Then instead... We had an early dinner here. The food was fabulous, and the the mushroom soup was out of this world! We also liked the grilled eggplant and mushrooms, and the roasted potatoes were fabulous! This was a wonderful dinner experience and we highly recommend. We will definitely return.

We had eaten here about 10 years ago and wanted to try it again. We were not disappointed in the least. The waitress was very capable and friendly; the food well prepared and tasty. I liked my potato ravioli w/ragu de cinghale and the others their spaghetti carbonara and gnocchi. The antepasta was slightly disappointing as it could have had... More

The "Grotta Guelfa" is a necessary stop for those who are passionate about good food and love the most authentic dishes. They are dishes that remain tied to tradition and their territory but, at the same time, do not turn away from new tastes. Patrons can have their dinner in the cosy and small lounge or in the wide porch with air conditioning and lively decoration, accessible year-round. The restaurant is located near the old "Palagio dei Capitani di Parte Guelfa". From this corner of Florence, famous for its typical medieval structure, it is possible to start an amazing tour among the artistic beauties of the city.
