Everything we had was great, though we were surprised by the description vs. actual platter. Our bad for not asking. We didn't understand the entree of artichokes with gran padano was essentially a quiche. Pork ribs were good, the juniper puree was so subtle I missed it. No complaints, nice people though service lagged as it got busier. I would... More

What looks to be a hole in the wall opens up into a fairly spacious restaurant but you will still want to make a reservation as it fills up fast. The host was very friendly and made a point of visiting all the tables to ensure good service and satisfaction. The menu was varied from traditional pasta dishes to unusual... More

In this place you can find a very nice atmosphere couple with an interesting menu. The food is very fresh. Precisely we had ravioli filled with burrata in a sauce and pieces of wildboar meat with beans. The service is great as well as the list of wines. Reservation is a must.

This restaurant is very close to the Duomo but hidden away in the quiet via delle Oche. It's a rather large space and a perfect spot for lunch or dinner. Their lunch offers an extensive salad menu along with pasta dishes. They have a small selection of wine by the glass and a much larger selection of wine bottles. Service... More

Made reservations at this trendy, cute restaurants after a personal recommendation. Various waitresses without much help, probably made this a less desirable place. Amuse bouche of ravioli with pear and pecorino was the best part of the meal. Would cautiously recommend.

Prebooked from Australia for Pasquetta pranzo - Easter Monday lunch. Was welcomed with open arms and looked after beautifully. Pecorino & pears as antipasto accompanied by a red chosen by Igor. Then it was wild boar - a first for me. Again a wine chosen for me. And finishing with the lightest of coconut cheesecakes. This is an emote can... More

We ordered a variety of dishes to get a taste of a Tuscan meal: cheese and fig crostini, tomato based crostoni, pistachio burrata, pear raviolini, black cabbage strigolini and I cannot fault one. The owner stopped by to chat and inquire which was our favorite after the meal. The place is very busy and reservations are a must!

Probably the best restaurant I've ever been. Great atmosphere, nice crowd, local knowledge and amazing food and wine! We had the pear raviolis...... There are no words that can describe them, just go and eat them!

The restaurant is at the shadow of Firenze Duomo, but the clientele was mostly local on the night I visited. It was one of the most memorable palate experiences I had in Italy. Yet, when I think about it, nothing in the dishes were so earthshaking. The chef(s) simply paired traditional Italian ingredients in a slightly twisted traditional way and... More

I'd say more of a 3.5 than a 4. Standout dishes- cheese and meat platter, pest and cheese ravioli, and ravioli with pistachio. Good dishes, not great dishes - liver pate and ribs. Not so good - tuna tartare. It seems like the pastas are the better dishes at Coquinarius. Service was a bit slow, not friendly and they did... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
