This restaurant was suggested by our hotel. They serve lunch and dinner every day. We went there for lunch on Sunday it was extremely crowded and we waited nearly 45 mins to get a table. But it's worth it. I would suggest to reserve a table before you go in any case. They have lunch menu that you can find... More

Great place if you're really hungry and wsnt good value for your money. Would normally pay 20 euros for their 10 euro menu, anywhere else in Florence.

Osteria, trattoria, pizzeria ... not too far from the train station serving good food with fresh ingredients. The place is divided into two areas. One is modern decor and the other is the more traditional osteria type atmosphere. Service is good.

This place is fantastic. Don't try to get in for dinner without a reservation. They're 35E prefix dinner is awesome and ends with a TBone steak. Go hungry. Service was excellent.

Good food. Nice place. Not expensive prices. Clean. Good wine. Fast service. Not in the city centre, but really close.

Tried several high ranking places fro TA and they were medium at best. This place has great tasting dishes and the price is good. You have to try the Florentine steak - it's great (both taste and size).

The best meal we had in Italy, so far! I ordered from the chef's recommended menu, my two teens ordered pasta. Everything was beyond our expectations. The bill was a pleasant surprise - €72 for three people, including desert. I have paid much more for much less. Great place! Highly recommend.

Really good food and nice service. They recommend us the pasta with truffle and then sliced entrecontte. We asked for a tiramissu that was incredible. They also give you complimentary limoncello. It is not expensive and it is also full of local people

The restaurant means for the poor 100. Its a little restaurant tucked away in a corner about a 15-20 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio. The ambience is unassuming but has a delectable feel of a traditional trattoria. The menu has quite choice however we didnt venture into anything adventurous but Pizza and Pasta as we were travelling with kids.... More

Excellent food and not overly expensive. Can be quite crowded, it's a very small place. Both the pizza and the standard dishes are very good.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
