The food was wonderful! We went a couple of weeks ago for lunch, so can't remember everything we ate (although hubby loved his eggplant parm), I enjoyed my soup, and teen son loved his pasta. It felt very casual and it was great to see a mix of tourists (like us) and locals. I agree that the owner didn't talk... More

Decided to check this place out after a read a recommendation from a blog site . While the food is good, the service was far less so. I understand it's a Mother and Son culinary team . While she was warm and friendly, he was cocky and pretentious . My Husband , Daughter and I were the first customers for... More

The owner is so aloof and unfriendly, I have never seen anything like it. He reels off the menu to you so you just pick the only thing you can remember! It also means getting served takes forever as he has to describe the menu to everyone. Food was nice although small portion and wine was delicious. Then when we... More

We went for dinner and it was a very good experience. The Place is small but very nice. We appreciated the interaction with the chef and the other people from the staff. Everyone was very kind. Food was very very good.

We stopped by as we saw the name was having to do with soups and outside it was cold, but they didn't have soups on the menu for that night. In any case, we decided to stay and were very surprised to try their very particular dishes. I had a first course, which was pasta with pumpkins and some French... More

I came back to Zeb after first visiting years ago. It has, like a good wine, improved with age. It is a small restaurant that offers a pasta course, second courses that are displayed before you, and desserts. The meal isn't cheap (we spent about 65 euro for two with pasta/second/wine but it is fantastic food. The ravioli I had... More

My wife and I and our daughter and her boyfriend ate lunch at Zeb after an overnight flight from the States. This is a modern restaurant with a horseshoe bar around the food serving area. There are no tables, just the bar with stools for its seating. It is in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks away from the tourist... More

Zeb has a really good atmosphere. It has a clean stream-lined look with local produce on all the shelves. Sometimes it's hard in Florence to escape tourist-traps but Zeb is not one of them. The pasta is honestly fantastic. I found the staff a little rude after we had paid but not terribly.

We had a mixed experience of both food and service in this wine bar. Fresh pasta: we had really very good capellacci, although a little too thick around the edges for my taste. The sauces however were just wonderful. The parmigiana di melanzane was good in that it was not oily (it is baked, not fried), but I thought it... More

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
