After walking around for a while, we finally decided to try Giovanni after seeing great reviews on here. Although it was packed when we arrived, we were both given a glass of Spumante while we waited (!) and 15 minutes later, we had a seat....More

Husband and I visited while on our honeymoon. The wait staff were excellent, and we were pleasantly surprised with the "presents" (prosseco, fried bread, lemon sorbet & biscotti!) throughout the meal! We had the florentine steak, which was uncooked in the first instance (we ordered...More

The restaurant is clearly a tourist hot-spot - an overcrowded place not able to serve all of its customers properly. We have booked a table for two (well in advance) hoping for a romantic diner in Florence. When we arrived at the place, it was...More

All of the food at L'Osteria di Giovanni was very good, but the filet mignon may have been the beat steak that I have had in my life. The large and very tender piece of meat was extremely flavorful, and was cooked perfectly. (It is...More

We had a very enjoyable dinner at this restaurant -- a shared pasta dish of tagliatinni with porcini mushroom sauce; a fillet mignon for my husband and a rabbit special for me; desserts of brownies with vanilla ice cream for him and pear poached in...More

The service and food are both absolutely incredible. The complimentary prosecco and nibbles are an added bonus - the decor isn't much to look at, but I enjoyed my food too much to care. I'd go back to Florence just to eat here!

Delicious, awesome service, really everything you want in a fabulous Italian meal. We were greeted with a glass of prosecco, taken to our table where we trusted our waiter to order for us, and were more than 100% satisfied. Very caring staff and every single...More

Had dinner here when visiting Florence recently as had heard good things about their Bistecca and wanted to try it. It was excellent, definitely worth the visit. Lemon cake very nice also. Very busy restaurant, with a good atmosphere. Would recommend making a reservation if...More

There are thousands of places to eat in Florence, There are only a few places to be served an authentic dinner. Have reservations (they have no problem turning you away on a busy Tuesday evening). Once you are here, you are like family. The owner...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city

At L’Osteria di Giovanni we not only maintain strict allegiance to traditional Tuscan dishes (including many antique recipes that are not commonly used these days), but we also experiment with new flavours and combinations, whilst remaining faithful to local and season produce. Popular new dishes include smoked duck breast on rocket salad and dressed in balsamic vinaigrette, tortelli stuffed with pear and pecorino, with leek and paprika sauce, pici with sausage and kale, and lamb slow-cooked with artichokes. We stronly believe that your restaurant experience should be unique and satisfying on every front. We look forward to welcoming you one day to L'Osteria di Giovanni.
