Happened upon this pleasantly-situated, small restaurant while exploring the Giudecca. The owners are a charming, energetic couple kind enough to tolerate my really awful Italian. Basically, I had only to express my love of tuna to experience the best lunch I have had in Sicily. A medium-rare tuna steak on a bed of grilled tomatoes with pistachio cream ... yum!... More

Wonderful dinner here with teenage daughter - strawberry prosecco aperetivos (they made daughter's non-alcoholic and she loved it so much she had two) then exquisite fresh grilled tuna with pistachio on tomato, pasta with sea urchin roe, and pesce crudo (raw fish) on black rice with zucchini. Great location overlooking the sea, very friendly propietors with excellent English. We would... More

The owners of the restaurant waited on us, and they were very helpful. The husband was kind enough to tell us the specials in English, and the wife took our wine order. We took his advice and ordered the carpaccio, the pistachio pasta, and the spear fish. Everything was great. We had a bottle of wine from the Mt. Etna... More

This resto was recommended by our hotel and we ended up going there for dinner most nights during our stay in Siracusa, Ortigia. The fish, the pasta dishes and the wine (nero d'avola) were fabulous!!

Called in for a cool drink on a warm October day. Being a real ale fan I was surprised to find they serve a really good (bottled) artisan beer brewed on Sicily - they try to support the new wave of artisan beers so if you are also fan, support them please.

Amazing small family run restaurant just off the water in Ortygia. The freshest of seafood prepared with care and lovingly described by the chef. Went back twice during our stay. Delicious!!!

Excellent setting and charismatic owners but food extremely disappointing. We had swordfish/spada with peach which consisted of the smallest portions of swordfish we had ever encountered. Still very hungry we ordered the pasta. The proprietor claimed to make this himself. If so, don't! Buy it in. Also the tuna in my pasta was not fresh and left a bad taste

This restaurant is situated out of the normal turist route on the Island of Ortigia in Syracuse. Via Nizza runs along the ocean but away from all the noice of the grander streets, and the restaurant is placed on a small corner in the Jewish quarter overlooking the sea. The owners are a wonderful couple with 3 small boys, and... More

We happened upon this place by chance. It says "wine bar," but is a restaurant specializing in fresh fish and white wine. It was superb, very simple yet creative, good setting, funny, gregarious chef. A gem!

I had seen Il Blu recommended in a couple of guidebooks and since we'd been swimming all afternoon and since the restaurant overlooks the swimming spot on that side of Ortigia it seemed like a logical choice for an early dinner. The deck seating in the front of the restaurant provides great views of the sea and the colourful locals.... More
