We enjoyed this lovely restaurant and the beautiful flavours and presentation of the dishes. The waitress was really sweet and very fluent in English. I ordered the octopus as a starter and that was delicious. My girlfriend ordered seabass and crunchy vegetables on a bed of courgette cream and it was perfect for her!

Based on other TripAdvisor reviews we chose Mattacchione, looking for something slightly more special than the many perfectly acceptable restaurants in the area, and were very impressed. The decor was modern and unpretentious, which would explain how the quality can be kept high within reasonable prices. The food was inventive and delicious. We accompanied it with a bottle of Sardinian... More

We visited this restaurant because of the reviews. It's quite a walk from town, not that they knew. However we were seated awhile before we were offered water and we wanted wine. Bit of language difficulties but vino is clear, we thought. Delicious starters, although not convinced melon compliments octopus but both were superb. Excellent gnocchi with clams. Mains very... This was without a doubt the best meal that we had in Sardinia. Friendly attentive staff. The waitress spoke excellent English and guided us through the whole menu. Would not hesitate in recommending ll Mattacchione for a romantic evening out.

Don't go to the beach to try the overprized food instead go to Il Mattacchione! The waitresses are so nice and make you feel comfortable all the time! Best food we ate during our stay. Grazie per tutto e ci vedremo!

The place doesn't look like much, but this was a really great food experience. The two waitresses was so kind and very well informed about everything on the menu. We had the starter of the day and Tuna Tataki. Both were excellent. We then had the fish of the day and some more Tuna. Again we were definitely not disappointed. Everything... More

The best restaurant we visited in Sardinia. We have eaten at Arzac in San Sebastián but our experience at il Mattacchione surpasses that restaurant. Food locally sourced was imaginative and beautifully presented and the Sardinian wines most impressive. The staff gave us details of different dishes and it was so obvious from the service and the skill of the chef... More

Our best meal in Sardinia. We had one night in Olbia and we were lucky enough to find this gem. Very unassuming from the outside, but the service was lovely and the food was modern and amazing!
