So we came to the Resturant and it was amazing. Our water Manuelli was super kind and helpful and my favourite waiter ever. Food was amazing and it tasted truly Sardinian. Makes sense why this Resturant has been open for 75 years!! Please come you...will not be dissatisfied.More

This Trattoria was recommended by the Caliaria house owners from whom we rent. We were the first ones that arrived and could choose whether to go outside (35C) or go inside. Definitely, the better choice and we were quickly surrounded by many Italian families and...couples. somehow that feels like a solid reference. The waiter was friendly and suggested to go for antipasti for 3 persons (we are a family of 5). Having a quick look around us 3 seemed to be a lot and we changed it into 2. Definitely sufficient if you want to go for a primi / secundi as next dish. It was a really nice surprise of mainly sea starters what we got - for the children sometimes bit new. Next the primi of spaghetti vongole, fregola seafood and risotto seafood were a nice addition and really sufficient. Its real a real traditional trattoria what you can expect. Proper food, nice ambience (don't expect it to be fancy), good fast waiters. Finalized the day with a great espresso + limoncello / sambuca. The only little advise I have is that the waiter could have recommended the amount (portions - size) of the dishes so it does not come as a surprise that you get flooded with too much nice food. Looking forward to going back here in the future!More

Tried twice in this place and we were unfortunately disappointed because the reservation outside were not respected (well in advanced organized) - whatever reasons - during dinner, selected meals were not available, service is so, so - in general comparing to other places in the...surrounding it is definitely not recommended.More

We were looking for a traditional trattoria and we found it. Situated just above the port in Cagliari. Search it out. Completely authentic trattoria family run for over 75 years. No frills just plain good food and fantastic staff. Sit inside to get the whole...ambiance. Fish obviously is recommended here. We were the only non Sardinians in there. We loved it. Best spaghetti vongole for a long time.More

We had a good experience. The waiter was really nice, we got the table without reservation. Food and wine were very tasty.

Extremly bad experience: We had a reservation done via the booking platform dish.co through a link on their website with confirmation and a reminder the same day of scheduled reservation (Saturday, 9pm) We arrived at 8.45pm, Alberto the owner told us that our reservation was...“annullato” and he was fully booked and would not have a table for us. After showing him our confirmation AND reminder for that evening, he still did not try to find a solution but was showing other guests to their tables (obviously locals and friends) Half of the tables were still not occupied, he obviously DID NOT WANT to give us a table. Even though I speak perfect Italian (so it was definitely NOT a misunderstanding due to language problems) and we were dressed properly & elegant (not as some tourists might show up) we were sent off! Would never go there again! Instead we had a fantastic evening at “Da Marina al St. Remy” were the owner managed to get us a table the same evening without having a reservation… this is how customer service should happen!More

I would have liked to review the food in this place, but our bad experience started much earlier. We booked a table for 4 people through the OFFICIAL website and after waiting many hours (so it is not true that the confirmation is automatic), we...got a reservation number to show at the entrance. We arrived there and we were addressed to the manager by an ashamed waiter. The reason was that he is perfectly aware of the fact that the reservations done through their OFFICIAL website are not valid and, despite this, he doesn't care to block the link or simply add an information banner in the main page. So you arrive there to discover that there is no place. He simply said that it was not his fault (as if I was the manager of the place and not him) and that we were the THIRD group of the day to be left without a place. So, he is used to receive GROUPS of people sure to have a reservation and still doesn't take any action to solve it. It is simply ridiculous in a ""touristic"" city and in 2023 that you cannot rely on an online reservation. He was very rude and never even said that he was sorry, but he was dealing with other stuff while I was waiting for a solution of this unprofessional situation. It is clear that they have many customers and they are not interesting in taking care of who (because of THEIR fault) cannot eat there. He just had money in the pupils and was disturbed by my presence which, it was clear, would not have brought any income to him. The explanation about the link in the OFFICIAL website was completely unacceptable and in addition, his way to deal with it was even worse. Full circus management. I will never ever recommend this place because the manager cares only about your wallet and not your well being. And, please, for your own pride, do not mention again the external company that manage the bookings, because people use the OFFICIAL website and the solution must start from there!!!More

If you find this review useful, give it a Helpful vote & follow us as we discover more of the world ... No frills restaurant serving very fresh, local seafood. The wait staff was a little brusque at the beginning but warmed up eventually. We...did show up a few minutes earlier than our reservation at 7:30 PM & they couldn't seat us as they were setting up. The stand out dishes were the octopus & simply grilled fish. So good, we ended up ordering seconds. The price was very reasonable for the quality & the quantity being served. There is indoor & outdoor seating available. My recommendation is to sit outdoors - you can enjoy people watching while having your dinner. Just be forewarned that they seat smokers outdoors & the crowd does seem to enjoy their cigarettes before & after the meal.More

Been at this place, at least twice a year for the last 50 years. Last night, a huge disappointment. While the quality of the food remains excellent, I (and other patrons) witnessed a verbal assault by three mobs against a customer who had dared ask...them not to speak too loud. The verbal assault was highly offensive considering it was carried out against an elderly gentleman in the company of a lady. Worse, the mob were not asked to leave. The way I see it, at this point food’s quality takes a backseat and I am inclined not to show up at Lillicu or to recommend it to friends and family anymore. What a shame!More

Countless times I ate in this unpretentious venue, with the deepest flavours of my town. My father used to bring me and my brothers since a long time. Last time I came with him and my family and he enjoyed the usual glamour though missing...waiter Efisio, by now not anymore among us. Food is perfect as usual, based on quality of ingredients. Umbelievable red grouper, this time. Alberto hosted us, with his usual professional way and giving us a final not negligible discount. I am sure we will stay in touch.More

A friend from Cagliari now living in England highly recommended this restaurant to us and it didn’t disappoint. The menu is mainly seafood based with a good choice of dishes. Really great prices too considering we were in the heart of the city. Both food...and wine were delicious and service was excellent too. I saw later on that the restaurant is listed in my Rough Guide to Cagliari and so it should be. I recommend the octopus starter!More

Apparently it's well-known among locals and indeed it's always full - over the summer, you need to book in advance if you don't want to end up having dinner at 10pm. The restaurant itself is basic but food is excellent, which is typical in Italy!...Beware of fancy places unless someone you trust recommended them to you. My friend and I only ordered the antipasto di mare and fried squids: more than enough! Nothing to say really except for go there if you want to eat real sea food. Also, prices are very reasonable. I know many foreigner might complain about the service but Italy is not the UK nor the US so just take it for what it is and enjoy the foodMore
