Worth finding this restaurant as the views are impressive and the food choices were interesting and very tasty. Couple of negatives: no house wine so had to buy more expensive bottle of wine (good news is not too expensive and definitely higher quality wine). The...other was serving extra virgin olive oil in sachets rather than in a bottle.More

On Via S. Croce there are 2 restaurants with a great setting, overlooking the city. Whilst this one does not quite have the best vantage point, we nevertheless had a lovely lunch on the terrace. Good service, good food, sensibly priced.

Almost by chance I celebrated 13 years together with my bride in this nice venue opposite of Bastione Santa Croce in wonderful Castello hill. Food was very good, some doubts on autenticity of atrichokes dumplings, possibly not homemade, unlike onion ravioli. Remarkable salami, less remarkable...Parma ham and Coppa. Olive oil gave to everything a perfect hint, pushing us to eat a lot of (good) bread. Extremely professional and pleasant the waiter (or the owner, as we might understood). Generous portions and ultimately a very good meal for a reasonable price.More

It is a pleasant place and, although it does not have many tables inside, it feels wide due to the heights of the ceilings. The attention is unbeatable, personalized, pleasant, friendly and at the same time extremely professional. The food is prepared at the moment...with seasonal products. On our way to the Banksy exhibit at Il Ghetto (if you are reading this in October 2019, must go), at the suggestion of our B&B we stopped here for lunch. Luckily, we made a reservation on our way to the exhibit as they were...not taking any when we sat down. Fresh made pasta as our first dish properly portioned and very tasty. For my main, I had the grilled lamb chops. Served with a half of lemon to squeeze over the meat. Usually I like not to add anything to my dishes, but the lemon was just the right touch. While I love vegetables, not really a big fennel fan but it was the perfect accompaniment to the lamb. We ate outside looking over the city. When we return, we will have dinner there. I am sure the sunset is spectacular. Of course, we will make reservations first!More

We found this place when we arrived at the Archeological Museum at lunchtime and asked if they had a restaurant. They said they did not, but that Pani Et Casu served traditional Sardinian food. Lovely elevated location with view over port and city from tables...outside. Clearly popular with locals having extended lunches in groups. Nice range on menu. We had an excellent lunch, And enjoyed it so much that we went back another day. Highly recommended for both food and serviceMore

My partner and I managed to get a table here on Friday night without a reservation - we were lucky as the restaurant filled very quickly after we arrived (around 8.30pm). Being unfamiliar with the Sardinian/Italian way of dining, antipasti, primi, secondi etc we looked...over the menu and the waiter offered some help. I had an idea of what I would like, preferring vegetarian food I had my eye on the mushroom tagliatelle and was going to give the secondi piatti a miss. We ordered the mixed starter to share and my other half went ahead and ordered the pasta in meat sauce, followed by a horse steak. At this point the waiter took our menus and left, presuming we were sharing everything, I’m not sure if this is our mistake in being unfamiliar with the etiquette here but very shortly after the starter arrived. This quickly put to bed any worries I had about the meat-heavy meal my partner had just ordered. The mixed starter consisted of around 6 plates including cured meats, cheese, bread, aubergine, chick peas and butter beans. It was delicious and would’ve made a small meal by itself! During our starter the sun began to set on the mountains that the restaurant over looked. The view was nothing short of spectacular, people had gathered along the wall to witness this beautiful sunset. It really was amazing, the mountains looked they were glowing, on fire. Stunning. Next arrived the primi piatti, the pasta course, it was easy enough for me to filter through the meaty parts that I didn’t want and enjoy the pasta and sauce, it was a generous portion and was becoming apparent now why the waiter assumed all the food was to share. The secondi piatti was then served. My partner had opted for a horse meat steak. Something neither of us had tried before, not something I would order an entire dish of but was interested to try. He ordered the steak cooked medium rare, when it arrived it was extremely rare, too much for my liking meat not being my favourite food. Maybe this again is a cultural difference, but my other half very much enjoyed his steak and I did try a small piece. I was surprised to find it was not too dissimilar to beef steak but maybe a little bit more tender. We didn’t attempt a dessert after this but instead requested the bill and left. We were happy with our meal, despite my initial disappointment with the order - something we will be aware of in future! Service was good and the staff were friendly. My only suggestion would be some seat cushions as the hard seats can become uncomfortable after sitting for a while. Would certainly recommend a visit here if in Cagliari, but it may be worth making a reservation early to be on the safe side as there aren’t many decent restaurants that you can eat at without one.More

We ate here twice during our stay in Cagliari. The food was amazing, great value for money and the atmosphere really nice. All the staff were friendly and attentive. All ingredients tasted fresh and the house wine was also tasty :) Definitely eat here if...you are in the city and book ahead as the seats outside were busy.More

Our hotel closeby recommended the restaurant. The location is perfect and I would definately reserve at the place next to it cause you sit a lot better for the view. The hotel owner said we didnt have to reserve. When we came to the restaurant...about 15 tables where set outside empty cause we came for italian standaards early about 20.00 but the waiter from the restaurant said they were fully booked outside but they still had space inside. Cause they were fully booked we thought it has to be a good restaurant. Inside we watched other people without reservation take place. Not even is the owner a liar the food also was terrible. It is a only meat restaurant the pasta was nothing better then the rest of sardinia and they only have horse, donkey, sheep and pig on the menu. I would say pani e casu thank you for wasting our time...More
