I had the Diavola with Buffalo mozzarella which was amazing. However, the male waiter thought it was acceptable to linger over one of my friends and then kiss her forehead. We were shocked. ‘Italian men’ is no excuse. He kissed her head twice. If we...weren’t all girls I’m sure this wouldn’t have happened. Just be carful if you are blonde and female..More
Having lived in Italy for over three years, learned the language, and tried pizza all over the country - from tip to toe - this place is what pizza is really about in true Neapolitan fashion. One disclaimer up front, the server can seem a...bit gruff: I think it's kind of his thing. He is actually an awesome guy and is very friendly, if you get an opportunity to get know him. Additionally, while they usually have some red wine, they do at times ru out and beer is the bigger thing here. Otherwise, Massimo - the owner and pizzaiolo - is making some of the best pizza in Italy. The place is small and no fuss, but it's vibrant. The crowd is almost entirely Italian (probably why the server still doesnt speak much English). It is super family friendly if you have kids. Lastly, but most importantly, the pizza is amazing. Massimo's dough is unequalled anywhere. I highly recommend the pizza natale or the ripieno (calzone). I dont usually leave reviews but now having tried multiple of the top internationally rated pizzerias of Italy, all which were amazing, I can write with full confidence that pizzeria da Vittorio is on par with all of them.More
Loved the pizza here, very thick sauce in true Naples style. Simple setting and friendly, fun loving owners.
We are in Vicenza for one night and searched TripAdvisor for some cheap eats nearby. We decided to try Da Vittorio. We arrived 10 minutes before they opened and expected to wait until 7pm but they let us in early. We had some luggage and...a stroller with us and they let us store it in the employee closet. They were very friendly to us and our toddler. They showed him around the kitchen and showed him the brick oven, they gave him paper and pens to color with. Exceptional service. Pizza was delicious and prompt. A+!!!More
Pizza it has always seen as the Italian specialty, but being myself Italian for me the perspective is quite different from the common sense. Really in Italy there are many pizza places, but it’s really difficult to find a "pizzeria" that in my opinion fully...deserves that name, and only few enter in my likeness. There are different school of pizza making, and for the pizzeria Da Vittorio we are talking about Neapolitan style pizza: Thick borders and thin layer in center: “pizza napoletana”! In my opinion in Vicenza city and province "Da Vittorio" is one of the three top places I go for Pizza after having tried lot of different ones. Vittorio father was the first Neapolitan person that opened a “Napoli style” pizzeria in Vicenza. His sons continue his tradition. Max is one of them and he is cooking in the Pizzeria Da Vittorio. The place is really small, the eating zone is crammed with little tables always full of customers, always someone is waiting standing up on the door area. Max is intensively working behind the low wall on the back of the room where the wood fire oven is placed, watching everyone coming in and controlling their reaction to his pizza. The turnover is very fast, everyone wants his pizza, and for a really good reason. Service is very quick and without much ceremonies is efficiently organized to assign a table as fast as possible to the continuous flow of customers. At first superficial view this place is not really appealing, nothing in the appearance is telling you what really will be the experience inside. The line of waiting people Is the only sign that would reveal you that this is not an ordinary place. Pizza is really very good, ingredients are superbly chosen, the dough tastes great. If for someone the thick borders could be a less tasty thing of the pizza here this assumption got completely wrong. After eating this pizza you don't feel thirsty which is a sign of good quality east and good leavened process. It’a pure pizza enjoyment. No more to say... it's one of my top well chosen few pizza place I go for with great pleasure.More
Really good pizza and nice service. Out of strict center - more locals than tourists are coming to visit. Definately recommended!
Great pizza- service was speedy pizza was good. Small non tourist style pizza place away from centre of Vicenza, a walkable 15mins.
This restaurant is probably the best value you are going to get if you are looking for pizza in Vicenza. It's a small restaurant and it's very cramped. They have numerous pictures of Naples, Vesuvius, and Toto on the wall so they are going for...a Naples theme in the decor. Considering the layout of the restaurant I think this is appropriate. The staff is friendly and as others pointed out the head waiter will go out of his way to interact with you and give you suggestions. The pizza is classic Italian style thin crusted with numerous options of vegetables and cheese. One you sit down and order you can expect it at you table in less than 10 minutes. I don't know if it's top quality by Italian standards, but sure beats North American standards if you ask me. The beer selection is also quite good and they do import some beers from select microbreweries that are some of the best I have tried. My only complain is lack of appetizers. Sometimes I enjoy sharing some with friends and this restaurant does not have any.More
Had to use a map to find the place and standing across the street we still thought it closed. That is how insignificant it looked from the outside to our untrained eyes. Not a high end place but definitely great value and a great experience....None of the staff spoke English but with a mix of italian, french a few english words we had wonderful pizzas from the wood fire stove and some ok wine. A very local restaurant with a small cozy familiar welcoming feeling and I would definitely visit again if ever in town.More
