Lovely restaurant, excellent service and delicious food. Enjoyed the humongous portion of cream of carrot soup that the server said is vegan. It had anise flavoring. Didn't even try to finish the huge portion served in a bowl so big I could call it a...soup tureen. Loved the amberjack tartare with mango and chives. The mango was the delicious sweet kind that's rarely available in the United States. For dessert, I had sweet fresh strawberries with vanilla gelato.More

Went a copuple of times last year when we were in Vicenza and just had lunch today. Excellent local food. I had the black rice with cheese and a fennel salad. Absolutely delicious. Went for dessert toady as well ... millefoglie. Very good chocolate and...cream dessert. Family run with great service. Good wine list. Try for lunch or dinner.More

Recommended by the hotel receptionist, we went on a summer friday for lunch around 13:30, the place was almost empty (not sure why, maybe it was a bit late?). In any case, we had lots of attention from the very kind waitress, and the food...was good. We had a nicely grilled fish and some good local dish. A bit on the expensive side, but worth the price.More

Lovely! Well made food without cutting corners. A family owned restaurant with pride. It feels very Italian in the best possible sense.

At the train station we asked the boom seller where to eat. He paused and then said "Antico Guelfo" and showed us on a map where it was. The recommendation was the first of many. We went on a Monday night when most places were...closed. The restaurant is spotlessly appointed blending the old and modern. The waitress asked before bringing us English menus. She recommended the Baccala alla vicentia with polenta and Tagliatella fatta in casa con coniglio, pomodorino al forno e olive essicate a local Ragu with Rabbit. She also suggested a local Azienda Agricola I Stefinani. The wine was a light white that was perfect. The first course was the Ragu which was the best dish I have had so far in Italy. Just delightful. The main was the Baccala. This warm rich and thick dish of Cod, cream and herbs was full of flavor and went so well with the Polenta. Her recommendations had been spot on so far so we accepted the recommendation of a cream filled pastry which was delightful. The staff was not only great with the recommendations but attentive and pleasant. This is a must stop place in Vincenza. So glad we followed the recommendations and now we recommend it to you.More

We found the restaurant by choice and were tempted by their menu displayed outside. In fact, they had a different lunch menu which was very good value (I recommend the fish) and the atmosphere was elegant and quiet. Very friendly service.
