We took the plate of cheese cuts and the horse meat pasta and the lasagna al forno. Good place for a quick fix before resuming the visit of the city. Honest in what they offer and gentle treatment of the staff. Everything for less than 40 euros, two glasses of red wine included.

I ate here on the recommendation of my AirB&B host. Unlike many of the restaurants in the zona pedonale, Il Ciottolo is firmly aimed at local regulars, which means that booking is essential, even on a Sunday evening. The food is not haute cuisine but is rooted in authentic regional cooking. Service in the dining room on the ground floor... More

We spent ages Googling where to eat in Verona and eventually we chose the place that seemed to have most Italians going inside. Good decision. Even though we had no reservation and were the only tourists present, the owners made us feel welcome. It was Sunday and so we ordered the local Sunday lunch of beef tongue, sausage and bread... I had an amazing evening enjoying truly Italian food from Veneto. It started with great service, a very clean and well-decorated place and finally finished with fantastic food and wine. I could not ask for a better place in this city. If I ever go back to this city, I'll definitely eat there again.

Came upon this restaurant whilst on a day trip to Verona. Very close to the old gates so expected it to be expensive. Not so. Traditional Bolito misto (excuse the spelling), huge portion, very good. House wine -Bardolino- excellent value at 6.50 for a half litre. Sunday lunchtime, no booking but they squeezed us in. Clearly popular with locals

On our august '16 roadtrip we visited this osteria Il Ciottolo. Upon arival we were guided to avery nice looking table. We started with a cheese and meats platter to share. Afterwards we had the Rabbit roast leg and the Rabbit ragout. My ragout was really tasty and I really enjoyed having anything other than pizza or pasta. My boyfriend... More

It was very busy during the lunch hours when I was there. Food was so-so, not spectacular. I had a pasta dish. Service was good, and there was an English menu available. There was 3 of us and with water, a coke, and some wine it came to just over 40 euros. Expect 10+\-2 euros per dish. I am glad... More

This small Osteria serves a magic home made polenta. If you're looking for new tastes try it with "asino" (donkey stew) or "coniglio" (rabbit) - or even "cavallo" (horse). In any case, start your meal with the Antipasto Scaligero with Venetian specialties (see photo) - superb with a Moretti beer! Tables outside are few so book in advance if you... More

Called in without booking on a Saturday night as we had just arrived in Verona and although we hadn't booked they managed to squeeze us in on a table booked for later. (We had an hour and half which was plenty for a couple of courses.) Good range on the menu and the day's specials were explained clearly to us,... More

I would not recommend anyone eating here my food looked and tasted like someone did a crap on my plate. The menu sounded amazing but the food was tasteless and my "meat" buried under so much gravy was hard and chewy
