First we didn't get what we ordered. And when we complained, the manager just walked away, wile I was talking. Very rude! At the end, we had to pay way to much for what we ate. Very disappointing!!!

Best place to have some good appetizers, special the cheeses (formaggio) and cocktails!!! Ask for the red meat tartar with mustard sauce or just pls ask to The manager (Maximo his name) to bring you his favorites appetizers.

We had the best lunch here. Everything from pasta to tuna was perfect. Bonus, we had the best tiramisu of our life.

White tablecloths at a pavement cafe in the shade: we loved our lunch stop at Alcova del Frate. We shared a fois gras pate with four home-made pickles or jams and toasted brioche. Divine. Be aware of over-ordering - a plate of meats or cheeses is too much for one person. Next, Gorgonzola gnocchi for him and asparagus ravioli for... More

The worst experience I have ever had in my life. I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant. Very rude. I was treated as a tourist and they were obviously after my money without respecting me as a customer. Originally I was told I had only 1 hour for the table. Then I was told that if I... More

The food was acceptable but the staff were awful, i wish we had looked at the bad reviews of this place before eating there. Our waiter was appallingly rude. He didn't look at us while ordering, i had to repeat my order. He looked confused at my starter grabbed the menu and grunted it wasnt available. The same with my... More

I usually get annoyed when in Little Italy in New York City, the waiters go after you with the menu in their hand. So did Simone at Alcova del Frate, on an empty night. But his seriousness and knowledge and delivery made this a try for us. In retrospect, it was an Italian journey. Or a theatre with dinner included,... More

The best meal to date! Yes they recommended wines which was great as they know their wines better than anyone else. This is the full dining experience so if you are after a quick cheap meal look elsewhere. Although we thought the price was very reasonable. Great work to the whole team! Given us another reason to return to Italy.
