Booked a month in advance for my wife's birthday. Didn't know what to expect but we where very pleasantly surprised. The staff where impeccable an absolute credit. My wife received a large red rose on arrival, a lovely touch! The food was delicious beyond my taste buds. I started with the "saor" followed by the fillet of beef and tiramisu.... More

We stumbled upon the place. It was our last night so we treated ourselves. It was the most expensive meal we had. We chose the taster menu, it cost €74 ahead. We bought a bottle prosecco at €30, it was lovely. Waiting staff are impeccably dressed, attentive and smart. The service was excellent. The food was lovely with 2 choices... More

We made a reservation to come here based on the great TA reviews and were disappointed. Food was strictly average (with one important caveat - we ordered only vegetarian dishes of which they have a few items to pick from). Service was great. Especially when you consider the prices, the food was "meh!" By far one of the most expensive... More

We came here for my birthday treat and were not disappointed. We had the tasting menu at 74 euros which was very interesting. The service was excellent but the 'matching wine' was a little expensive for what you received, maybe better to choose your own bottle. A very cosy restaurant that gets booked up so reserve your table in good... More

We have eaten in a lot of restaurants over the years at all kinds of price, but this place is very special the meal and the wine and sheer ambiance was superb and we could not fault the service we asked the sommelier for his advice relating to our various choices and the wines were perfect. It was raining so heavily... More

A wonderful restuarant offering traditional and modern Venician and Italian food. Wonderful wine selection accompanied the fantastic dishes. Take your time and enjoy the courses on offer. It is worth it.

Very welcoming and traditional with some of the best Spaghetti Carbonara we have tasted. Cosy and comfortable with the multi-linguistic waiters greeting everyone like friends which for a tourist city was exceptional. Salads were generous.

Our meal at Bistrot de Venise was simply outstanding. Everything we ordered, from the Octopus and soft shell crab first courses, pasta and fish followed by dessert was beautifully presented and full flavored. Service was professional, attentive and friendly. They paced the courses perfectly to meat our desires (we wanted to savor every course without being rushed). We travel to... More

We came here based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. Not only was the food incredible, but the service was probably the best we've experienced at any restaurant. By far our favorite dining experience in Italy!

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
