We spent a lovely evening in this restaurant. From the start our waiter was friendly and helpful with excellent English and patient for our complete lack of Italian. The food was delicious and the wine was fantastic. As always we where given a complementary limocello to after our meal. While I felt the value for money was good for this... More

We liked this restaurant so much we came back for lunch the next day. The pasta and pizzas are delicious and are all freshly made. The service is friendly and efficient. The prices are sensible compared to a lot of other restaurants in Venice. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Stumbled upon this gem in my first half an hour out of the train station. Hoping to get away from some of the pricier places along the Grand Canal (and in desperate need of Wi-Fi) my friend and I found this place. I have a gnocchi with crab sauce which I loved. Medium portions, fair prices. Close to a super... More

I had the seafood pasta and my friend had the lobster pasta! both were delicious, extremely fresh and beautiful. The sauce was amazing and they gave generous portions of seafood which I was surprised by! Offered great service and very friendly! A must for sure!

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend our first night in Venice. We were immediately seated and ordered the house red wine and the seafood risotto - both of which were great! Ronak took excellent care of us and we hope to be back one day if we ever return to Venice! Get the homemade limoncello - best we... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
