Me and a friend came here on our last night in Italy and we're utterly disappointed! We both had the four cheese gnocchi and it tasted like slop, absolutely no flavour. When the bill came they had added a large tip automatically which we wouldn't of wanted to pay as the service was so slow. When we came to pay... More

We were staying next door to this place at the Canal Hotel. We visited this place on a Tuesday night with my wife and 3 children. We ordered food and drinks and the Italian Waiter seemed pleasant at first. The food arrived and it was good. All was going well. We asked for the bill and I got my Visa... More

We went there twice. Staff is nice and the food is great! We ate very well for a reasonable price in Venice. The weather was a little cool at night but they are well equipped with heating lights so we could still enjoy eating outdoors right on the canal.

Wonderful service!! Spaghetti looks marvelous! I like pizza cooked a little more so the crust is crispy yet not burnt. Vincent is amazing.

Had a great experience here last year ... so thought we'd try it again ... just as good. Phenomenal view (Grand Canal, boats in the water, train station, The Bridge, folks walking by, and a pigeon or two). Food was very good and the service was great ... complementary after dinner drink hit the spot. Very well done!!

Only good thing is the view and seating. Pizza was very poor, service not more than ok. My wife had Spaghetti Carbonara and she enjoyed it.

Mirabar is best in venezia. Especially Mixed sea food spagetti was very delicious. Good food, wine, view and nice man! I visted here 3 days in 5 days! Really nice. More

We were on a quest for lunch when turned a corner and there was Bar Mirabar on the Grand Canal with a view to die for. First thoughts were that this will be expensive! Read the menu and was pleasantly surprised. More expensive than a side street but not bad for the location at all. The service firstly was fab... More

Polite service, good pizza, a great location by the canal. A little more expensive than other restaurants on Venice, perhaps because of its close proximity to the bus & tram station. Would recommend.

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
