We had some beer and wine in this cafe restaurant. Excellent. Try the Moretti draught. Very good. The selection inside looked promising too. Good tip for Venetian restaurants and snack bars, the people make the place.

It was just an average tourist menu. the price was fair, but we have tried better food for that money. It is nice value for money in Venice but you should not expect much. We had pizza, coke, expresso and nice cake. Please note that they don't accept credit cards but there is atm nearby.

We and here before, about 4 years ago and thought we might give it another try for lunch. The weather was beautiful and we sat outside. It's a busy area as it is right by L'accademia Bridge but you don't feel very hassled by it all. If you want, the inside is much more peaceful and similar in style to... More

We so love the great location right at the side of the grande canale, our visit last year it was okay, this just year gone to the dogs!!!! Very slow service, guy not really interested. Wine okay, but waited ages for two very substandard pizza's, which needed a sharper knife to cut it up. They thrive on their position, good... More

Terrific lasagna, warm bread, a glass of wine and good coffee for 15 euro. Ate lunch here on a very cold day - most of the other diners were gondoliers and am guessing they don't eat where the food isn't good.

Just like most places to eat in Venice, the food is overpriced. Especially when you are right on the water. So you have to expect to pay the price. Very average pizzas, but the view makes up for it

We had coffee there on a sunny morning. The interior is so lovely, vaulted ceilings included, personnel was very friendly, the coffee excellent, the atmosphere was so pleasant and the check/bill was very reasonable. Oh yes, and the location right by the Canal Grande is fabulous, of course. So I don't understand the negative comments. I guess one's own stand... More

Don't order the club sandwich! It's a regular toast with vegetables and cost double than a toast (12€!!). When I asked explanation to the owner about the reason why I have to pay double just for few vegetables added to the toast, she shouted at me and left banging the door on my face. Never found such a terrible service... More

Dear Silvia, referring to your review I need to specify only a couple of items: 1. In my menu every single course is explained in four diffent languages (italian, english, french and german). The dish choosen by you is called Club Sandwich Farcito and is clearly written "Toast with Ham and cheese and vegetables". So eventually here the only problem... More

The waitress counts the number of cup of coffee and dictate how many person can go in to the toilet. Very rude.

Dear Adrian, public toilette in Venice cost 1,5€ per person wich is less than the cost of one coffè in my place. I want to keep my restroom clean all day long for my client. You were a group of 8/10 people: if math is not an opinion the public toilet will cost 12/15€. So why you have to use... More

You can't get a better view than what you will find at this restaurant bar. They have beautiful outdoor seating which is just under the Accademia Bridge on the Dorsoduro side. We have eaten here many times. The food is basic and mainly pizza & pasta. The pizzas are better than average. The service has always been good. Worth it... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
