A very modern cafe in a busy location. We were comfortably tucked into a corner for two. The service was prompt, courteous and friendly. They offferedmenus in different languages. We ordered the lamb ribs ( small -3 ) done a beautiful medium/rare, covered with almonds. Accompanied with puréed aubergine (eggplant) covered in miniature pansies and a side of roasted artichoke.... Over several visits, I've used this bar for coffee in the morning and wine later in the day, and I find the atmosphere friendly and lively. The staff are attentive and efficient. On a lighter note the glasses for the wine are amusingly large, but the measures are standard. The wine is good quality and the prices are typical of... More

Lovely place to eat, enjoyed our food and wine, worth the walk. Do book as they get busy and they're not too expensive.

Fantastic food, reasonable price, great service, definitely the best dinner we had in Venice. Fresh homemade ravioli with pesto sauce, ricotta with meringue and licorice & star anise sauce was incredible.

We were looking for something better than the average pizzas we had eaten so far in Venice and were impressed with Impronta. Great location to our hotel, food was really fresh and delicious (we had the carbonara and ricotta ravioli followed by tiramisu and chocolate fondant). Service was ever so slightly slow but staff were friendly and helpful. Ravioli was... More

We visited this place following trip advisor recommendations. We luckily got a seat as it was reservations only. Good service and really tasty food. All food was beautifully presented and it made it a really special meal. Not cheap but about the same price as most restaurants in the area. Worth it for a special experience.

Found this restaurant in Venice by accident (only after the fact did I realize this was one of the places recommended by Trip Advisor). Difficult to find anything in Venice! The place was packed, and yes, mostly tourists. We did not have a reservation. We were seated quickly, and there was no delay in our service. Our drinks were great,... More

I have had lunch twice in this place. In a hurry as I was, no time to get lost around Venice looking for places, this place does its job with room for praise. The first time I had the cold cuts and cheese (which is actually a starter, but I had it as lunch); the second, a pasta tricolore. Both... More

We had a few hours to kill in Venice before our flight and found this little gem thanks to TripAdvisor. The place is cosy, the staff welcoming and the food was delicious. We choose a dish of the day and a dessert each, 2 glasses of wine (paired with the choice of food) and a water for a total of... More

We had made this reservation a few weeks earlier from America, but when we arrived they had said the reservation was set for the week before and we did not show up. Having seven of us and this place not being very big (and packed at the time), we thought we were in trouble....NOPE - they asked for a few... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
