The 4 stars are for the Gluten Free options which were available here that my wife appreciated, she had a good choice from the Pasta to Pizza which she does not normally have. She enjoyed her food and the service from the staff were friendly and enjoyed trying to entertain my young daughter. Outside of the gluten free options while... More

We went for a fish dinner and this restaurant was near the flat we were sleeping. All service people are caring about the customers and everything we asked was quickly done. The big fishplate (four full fishes) was vey nice and the waiter removed carefully all the bones for dishing every one plate. One the other side, the "Seppie alla... More

We ate here twice. Ordered pasta and pizza. Good Service. After the amazing penne arrabiatta in Rome, I tried it here. No comparison. Loved the Rome (see review). Pizza and calzones were good though. We stayed nearby so it was good food close to home

We come across this restaurant when walking the back streets of Venice, near the Rialto Bridge. The staff are just fantastic and the food is fresh and wonderful...just great as my daughter has coeliac disease, the food was gluten free and super tasty. Enjoy

If you have coeliac disease and you want to make sure that the food is prepared in the right way then this place fits the bill, they even have g/f beer which pleased my husband just one complaint the g/f food incurs a 3 euro charge which is fine but my husband had the tiramisu they boasted about but when... We've had some pizza and gnocchi here. The gnocchi with 4 types of cheese was really good. But the gnocchi with pesto sauce and shrimps were surprisingly good. A bit spicy and full of aromas. The magic of this place though is in the good service and the location. The place is intimate and feels very Italian. If you want... More

This was our 3rd trip to Venice and our 3rd visit to this restaurant since stumbling across it on our first trip. This time we were with my family for my Mum's birthday. Every time we have been here the service has been wonderful... cheerful, funny waitstaff who never kept you waiting for a drink or to order even though... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
