Your answer is visit Caffe Rialto in Venice. Dry, tasteless pizza with no love in it that you expect from Italy. Seriously, how do you mess up pizza? Also the pasta sauce tasted store bought and salty, the cocktail was terrible. Staff were rude and unfriendly and even though it's in a good location, I beg of you. GO ANYWHERE... More

This cafe is located just in front of Ponte Rialto. They have both signs of "Bar XIXI" and "Caffe Rialto." Two waitresses had a video chat with somebody in Chinese with VERY LOUD voices all the time while we had a breakfast. It was really annoying. It seems they didn't even care that we were there. They don't have an... More

possibly the worst restaurant I've ever encountered. We only went in because it was raining heavily and how can you stuff up a pizza margarita? Overpriced, leathery with not a single herb and barely any cheese or tomato. Ripped off! Don't ever go to this place.

They must be trying for the record for bad reviews. I mean, you couldn't accidentally make pizzas this bad. It was a cold rainy night. We just wanted something hearty and warming. What we got was an abrupt waiter and a dry pizza base with a couple of bits of ham in the middle. To illustrate the point I cut... More

The staff is unfriendly and it is a total ripoff in pricing! A place to avoid even when escaping the rain!

I went here at the end of our trip to Venice and I have never been to a worse restaurant. The waiter was extremely rude and pushy and the food he brought out was absolutely revolting. I have seen dog food which looks more appetising than what was served in this so-called restaurant. Avoid avoid avoid.

... go to that place. You'll find tasteless industrial panini. If you want to sit exhausted by your journey in Venice, a harsh waiter will remind you that there is a extra charge of 1 euro. We asked for a glass of tap water with our order, and we got in return an icy "NO". There are so much nicer... More

Food very average, even for a snack bar, but the service was very rude. When a party of eight arrived, we were told to move immediately even while eating our panini! DO NOT GO HERE.

Nasty food. Felt sick after we ate here. Toilets were disgusting too. These guys really need to sort themselves out. Yuck.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
