We were looking for an alternative to the typically Italian food we'd been having and came across Frary's. What luck! It has an eclectic collection of Greek, Lebanese, Mediterranean, Turkish, etc. dishes, each of which is wonderful. We tried the hummus, cous cous chicken, the lamb with rice another chicken dish, the chicken skewers and meatballs over a couple of... More

On arrival, we were welcomed by a waitress who immediately asked if we had any special dietary requirements and then explained which dishes would be most appropriate. The menu had an interesting and original selection that suited both vegan and non-vegan choices and the food quality was excellent.

The staff was very nice and welcoming, skilled in suggesting dishes to everyone, the food was very good and original in comparison to anything else that is offered in other restaurants in Venice. The ambience was very relaxing and enjoyable, and the dessert was extraordinary! The place itself could do with an extra cleaning and a renovation perhaps, but other... More

The menu is a mix of venetian and middle eastern food, with a large number of gluten free options. The house wine was realy good and overall very good value for money. It was so good that our "doggy bag" was still delicious cold for lunch the next day.

Our first night in Venice and we decided to walk around and get lost. We got hungry really quick and we were looking for any Italian restaurant. We could not make a decision and were we tired so we ended entering here. Once we sit,we realized it was a restaurant inspired on Moroccan, Greek and Lebanese food. We gave it... More

My husband and I ate here twice on our 5 day stay in Venice. The food was fresh, well seasoned and beautifully presented. The owner, who is also the cook, is gluten free and dairy free and they were very accommodating with food sensitivities. You can order a sampler of their appetizers with many dipping sauces. They are all great,... More

This was a nice change from all of the Italian food we have been eating in Italy. This is a little small restaurant with a warm inviting feeling. The food was outstanding! The hummus was made fresh and the Greek salad was the best I have had. We got Chicken cous cous and the flavors were great. The waitress gave... More

Well, This restaurant is really close to my office and for the first time after years I decided to go there to eat during my lunch break. The staff was really kindly and the venue is magical (I guess that during dinner with candlelight it will be so magical). My delicacies was so tasty and I felt in love with... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
