We came here after a Vivaldi concert thinking 10pm might be too late for Venice in winter. Wow the service was welcoming and prompt, every dish we ordered was delicious and perfectly put together (linguine alla vongole, lamb chops and seabream) and then to top it off the tiramisu was the best one we had in Venice. All the portions... More

This place had been recommended and did not disappoint. The seafood is excellent but there is also plenty of choice of pastas etc. The pasta is also delicious with some interesting dishes. . The wine list is reasonably priced with a good selection. . A nice touch was the small bottle of limoncello brought to the table. Well worth a... More

We were recommended to visit here by the concierge at our hotel that was local. We loved it that much we went back on our last night. Staff are friendly, patient and speak great English and we also heard fluent French when they served the table next to us. Really great food! If you're looking for the Italian experience with... This place was a recommendation from the concierge. Not far away from the hotel, we just wanted a quick lunch and finally the waiter proposed us some appetizers we couldn't refuse ! Fresh food, nice plates, good cocktails... we didn't get the chance to taste the desserts as we were already full !! The waiter also gave us some interesting... More

This was my third visit (once previously in summer sitting outside and once inside in winter). This time we were a group of 9 pre-booked for a Saturday evening in January. We had an excellent evening, everyone enjoyed their varied food orders (the mussel soup was a particular success as usual and a fussy teenager raved about his beef dish).... More

Friendly until realizing that we only wanted to eat light. Ordered big salads but staff was not happy. Salads were just average...not really big.

On a trip to Venice for my birthday, my daughter and I followed a guide book recommendation to dine at this restaurant, and we were delighted by our experience. We felt welcomed, comfortable and determined to return to explore the menu further as our food was so delicious and well presented. Sadly, we had to cancel our second reservation, but... More

Our hotel gave us three dinner recommendations, this was the second. The first was Ai Mercanti, and was amazing, so we had no qualms about trying A Beccafico - big mistake. First impressions were that it is a very uncomfortable space with no art, no photos, nothing - just a square room with angry sperm shaped light fixtures. I asked... More

I have always enjoyed Beccafico, which now also does GF pasta. Good service. Even nicer in summer when you can sit outside.

It is not often that a restaurant combines service, atmosphere and great food , but we were happy to find all at A Beccadico. We had a lunch and a dinner there while we were in Venice. The mussel soup is a wonderful dish and each pasta entry had a distinct and very tasty flavor. The atmosphere is welcoming and... More

Description
Just accross the Ponte Ascedemia. Lovely and serean in a quiet pizza very near to Pizza San Marco. Wine not served by the glass - they open a bottle of wonderful house wine and only charge you for what you drink. Excellent friendly service and good food.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
