My wife and I came across this restaurant by accident the first night in Venice. Great service and very welcoming. Started w 2 glasses of house wine that were very good to enjoy with a basket of bread/toast. I had Scampi pasta w prawns. It was outstanding! Great flavor and good portion. We shared the salad and enjoyed the simplicity... More

The food was good. Nothing extraordinary, but above average for Venice, despite the fact that it's quite touristy. We paid 57 EUR for three people - two spagetti dishes, one pizza, two tiramisu (home made and really good!), beer, Aperol and cafe.

We were invited in on the tourist menu and the meal was exactly what was set out on the card- so they get points for that. The service was efficient but perfunctory- they needed our window seat for the next diners. A plus was the price of the drinks...by the glass...very reasonable with dinner. I appreciate their honesty at the... More

After walking for 40 minutes from San Marco to get to this place, the following happened : We arrived to the restaurant and no one welcomed us; a young man was seated with 3 girls talking on his phone; we asked if we could have a table, we looked at us and literally pushed us out of the restaurant yelling... This restaurant was cosy and welcoming. The warm decor invites you in and the staff are polite and always available to tender your needs. The food was excellent, with a good selection of wine. Was surprised at how reasonable the bill was. This was the best restaurant in our four day stay, far better than the night before that cost... More

We went to this restaurant and ordered two pastas. Both dishes were served almost cold. Very disappointing service and food.

Found this little restaurant on our last night in Venice and was very impressed. Really lovely food at an excellent price. Great atmosphere, friendly staff - who could ask for more? Will be returning on our next trip!

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
