The restaurant had a 'gluten free' sign outside so we decided to give it a go and ended up going back a second time when we couldn't find anywhere else suitable serving GF. We all had a lovely meal and the staff were all great. Would definitely recommend.

For our last night in Venice, we wanted to find somewhere far away from the crowds. So we walked and walked and walked. Eventually, we stumbled upon Trattoria da Nino in Castello and decided to try it. We had a nice outside table, where we could watch all the local action at a bar near by (quite entertaining). The meal... More

Very tasty food with friendly and efficient service, located down a very picturesque alleyway. I had cannelloni, which could have been presented more nicely, but was delicious, and my boyfriend had penne with tuna and tomato.

Ate here today 2 adults and 2 boys Bruschetta Classico was highlight of meal - so simple, so fresh Pizzas were fine - bit longer in oven for me ideally but tasted nice enough Good local better and white wine Kids enjoyed the tiramisu too 120 euros with tip was pretty steep nonetheless but - hey - welcome to Venice!

This is tucked away in the back streets of Venice not far from the main water front (Water-bus stop S.Zaccaria). The food was good as was the Chianti and have Gluten free options available

Nice view. Quantity is just unreal and in the bad way. We took pasta. Taste was very good, quantity was a joke. Tjen we took a tiramisu, frozen one. So you make it two, 13x2 for the pastas and 6x2 for the tiramisus or an amazing price of 38€. Oh and no tapwater because "the owner does not want" I... More

Had not eaten all day so was very hungry. Had the Fish Menu of the day and was not disappointed. The Seafood Pasta was excellent, as was the mixed Fried Fish, all washed down with a nice bottle of Chianti. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would certainly visit again.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
