Friends who were foodies recommended this cozy little spot and we are so glad we took their advice. Lovely dinner, reasonably priced, and in a quiet neighborhood. Wait staff is attentive. We were a family of four and everyone enjoyed their meals. The gnocchi was outstanding. Do yourself a favor and order the panna cotta with caramel sauce if it is... More

The owner of this place of venetian heaven is Deborah. She does it all and it is ALL. Her menu is personally curated by her and there is no choice you could make that will disappoint! Her gnocchi is something I will crave until the hopeful day I will get to come back to her restaurant. Everything about his place... More

Highlight of our Venice trip. Cozy atmosphere. Great food. Gracious staff. Remember to call ahead for reservations and to bring cash (they do not accept credit cards). Debora, the owner, is the best.

This small osteria is friendly, with a cosy relaxed atmosphere, in a rustic setting. The staff seem to be multi-lingual, so are able help and advise several nationalities. This place does not serve fish, but the range of meat and vegetarian dishes is adequate. The food is good quality and typically priced. I had the rabbit dish as a main... More

We've eaten here before - it doesn't serve fish but the portions are ample, quality high, and we liked the calm service.

Venice is a very tricky place to eat. Plenty of restaurants with mediocre food. Trust me when I tell you LaBitta is off the beaten track and has absolutely marvelous food. Even their desserts are unlike any you will find in all of Italy--we had the tiramisu and pana cotta--staples in Italy BUT you have never had them the way... More

Such an amazing spot: we had gorgeous food and very good wine in this tiny place. We really enjoyed our dinner. Super tasty homemade dessert. Friendly staff. Two sittings for dinner only, so booking in advance is required. Excellent and less dear than expected. Awesome.

Great food, great service. We ordered a mess of dishes to share and they were all excellent. Our waitress put a lot of thought into how to proportion the various courses so everyone could try them and it turned out perfect. Charming & intimate restaurant, definitely recommend. Make a reservation or you won't get a table.

We came in with no reservations and were seated right away, although we were told we'd only have one hour to eat because of previous reservations. The wait staff were welcoming & friendly & very efficient. The food was delicious. We had a curious & very tasty artichoke hearts with melted cheese to start with, and then had a delicious... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
