On our last day we cracked breakfast. Go to a pastry shop with coffee bar, stand up and get great coffee with good pastries and all at a reasonable price. This particular shop was excellent.

I had tried cannoli before as I have always heard that it is a superb pastry, but never could understand what the big deal was. Until now. Ballarin's cannolis have to be eaten to be believed. The crumbs of pistachio, the hints of candied orange...More

We went a couple of times for a mid morning snack. A couple of coffees and four pastries was less than 10 Euro. My favourite was "Code di aragosta alla crema" which is like a crunchy croissant with a creamy filling. It was sweet but...More

I quickly came to realize how much the locals hate the tourists. The staff here let locals ahead of us in line and made us wait until they had no choice but to help us. They were extremely blunt when it came time to taking...More

This place just sucks. Service is very very bad, moody guy. Not nice icecream. I asked for a pink spoon and he just wouldn't give it to me, it's a simple thing... no one looked friendly at all.More

My daughter wants to go here every day for the fantastic chocolate/Nutella brioche. The coffee was good too and the servers are pretty patient with tourists considering locals are stopping in for quick coffees at the bar. The candied orange slices were yummy too. This...More

I think Venetians are great. I can imagine how they are tired from tourists, but they are warm and welcoming people. So I think about this place as well. I loved their customer services and being welcoming people. Prices are the same as in most...More

It was good, but I wouldn't calll it a € place.... We came in during the late afternoon, most of the prices weren't written out in front of the pasrties... Actually what we have bought was delicious.

I have been dreaming about this place since I last left Venice and going back again in September and can’t wait to get up and walk over to Bar Pasicceria Ballarin to order an espresso and a hot raspberry croissant.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

I might be wrong, but no, they make only "pizzette". All the other things they sell are sweet
