We found this place by luck, the reward stickers (on the backdoor crystal) were impressive. We have been served twice by the owner; impecabely and elegantly dressed, attentive and welcoming. We were lucky to find seats. One of the very few owners who obviously and genuinely enjoys being in direct contact with clients.. The food takes a bit more time... More

The first time we ate at this wonderful restaurant was on an early summer evening. It was too early by Italian standards to have dinner and the gentleman that greeted us was very formal so we were a bit scared to enter the beautiful courtyard. We had just moved to Padua and had not become accustomed to the typical Padua... More

You wouldn't come across this place except by accident, tucked away as it is on a side street leading from the Fruit Market. We first found a door covered in promising labels of recommendation, but it was locked. Walking round the block, we found the entrance to the courtyard on the other side. This is an excellent place for a... More

We were wandering around one night in Padua looking for a place to eat and came upon this place. It was a fantastic find. We sat outside in the courtyard and enjoyed a fine meal.

visited with a group of 9 on a Sunny saturday evening. actually had made reservations and though we arrived a little late, our table was not ready and it took a fair time before we could be seated. waiters abused a bit the fact we were a large group to confuse us in far too many side dishes. the raw... Bacala (salted cod) is a local specialty in the Veneto. We had eaten it in Vicenza, where there were small bits of cod "swimming" in a sauce. But at this restaurant in Padua, the cod was whipped and swirled and was quite delicious; the polenta with it was excellent and golden. The sea bream with almonds was very good, but... More

We (4 adults) ate here on 5 September 2014. The restaurant has a very small menu, which ought to mean they do each dish to a very high standard. I was very unlucky though: my starter (pasta) was stodgy and uninspiring, my main course (white fish fillet) was off. I knew it was off the second it was put in... More

A really nice, calm and green court in an historic building, worth a visit, but food is average and service slow (50+ people and 2 waiters. they were running like mads, but it was impossible for them to keep the pace). I could not finish my pasta portion, and I am quite a strong pasta eater. Baccalà fish was supposed... More

We popped in here on rainy day for lunch, given its recommendation from Frommer's and were very happy with the restaurant and the quality of food. It won't break your budget either (something we are always aware of). There are multiple choices for lunch, but the menu does shift. The waiter spoke English to us and helped with translations of... We ate there on a warm October evening, drinking good friuliano white wine with traditional venetian cooking, including baccala, fish appetizers and deserts. The lady serving knew her business, the food was fresh and the wines accompanied them well. It's a place we always visit in Padua and enjoy. I give it 7 out of 10. Go there for a... More

Description
This restaurant was one of 4 restaurants in Padua recommended on the New York Times website and is also contained in the Padua Tourist Information guide to restaurants but it was truly awful. It looked great from the outside, has a very smart website and a menu which sounds really special but the meal we had last weekend was probably one of the worst I have had anywhere. I feel people should know!
